    Pros

There are no good reasons to work at Bob Evans.

    Cons

The pay is horrible, the managers are very lazy and they don't recognize any of your work. The restaurant I worked in was either overstaffed so that there was not enough work to do and then we were yelled at for not working, or so understaffed that we all had to stay very late. Also, the shifts have no ending time.

    Advice to Management

Get off your lazy butts and help out the employees!

    Pros

locations are convenient, food is good.

    Cons

You get treated as a slave do multiple jobs that shouldn't be doing. Overall understaffed need to purchase updated equipment

    Advice to Management

Hire more managers with actual experience. Whom treats employees like valued human beings not as if they are grunts and slaves.

    Pros

Gives you great customer service skills. Fun and energetic environment, you make great friends with the 'Regulars' and staff, Very good pay!

    Cons

Long hours, messy work, work every holiday but Christmas Day, the managers have a 'care less' attitude and are rude to the employees.

    Advice to Management

If you would like your employees to stick around for good then treat them well and respect them the way you would want to be.

    Pros

You make cash daily as a server.

    Cons

Management keeps your charge tips for two weeks - they come in your check, not by cashing out. You, the employee, have to find your replacement if you want to take your vacation or a day off, even months in advance. If you earn vacation time, you lose it if you quit or are fired - for example, you take your vacation in December and the company pays ALL vacations out in the spring. Quit or get fired between your vacation and the spring, you lose that pay. I felt like the staff are just bodies doing a job.

    Advice to Management

Stop keeping your servers' pay for two weeks so you can make interest off it. That's a serious a*hole move.

    Pros

Bob Evans is will to give you plenty of hours of time, since they are always under staffed. Opportunity to learn other basic jobs is also encouraged.

    Cons

Managers are so desperate to get workers scheduled that they don't care what times you list as available to work, they schedule you as they see fit, then blame you for not being able to work those times. Also, not training is provided at the beginning of employment.

    Advice to Management

Realize that your employees are people too, not just tools for you to use. Train them before expecting perfect performance, at least. Stop interfering with them while they are working. In general, take some classes on management, because I ran into very few competent managers throughout several branches.

    Pros

    The money can be good...sometimes.

    Cons

Management treats you like a piece of crap. They expect too much out of servers. If someone orders water its held against you. You can absolutely be wrote up if your customers dont order soda or coffee. You are looked at as a number and someone just there to get the work done. You cant take time off EVER if you are part time unless you get someone to cover your shift. You are belittled, talked down to, and literally treated like a piece of garbage. I personally feel like Ive been mentally "mind raped" when I leave work. Evidently its ok for store managers and assistants to treat their employees with no respect or dignity. I have to say this is the WORST job Ive ever had and wouldnt recommend a convict on death row working there. There is favortism, bosses being "best friends" with certain employees and management talks badly of certain employees with other employees. I have been in the restaurant business for years and have NEVER seen the types of things that go on at Bob Evans compared to other restaurants. Ethically, they should be shut down. Period.

    Advice to Management

Treat your employees like human beings. Dont scream and belittle employees and make them feel like they are at the bottom of the food chain. Honestly, just treat people with respect and you might not have such a high turnover rate. F@@k Bob Evans Restaurants. Ive never hated anything more in my entire life than I do the people that run the place.

    Pros

I am struggling hard to find a pro. I guess it would be the other employees there. They are great and dont deserve the treatment they get

    Cons

Training sucks, management sucks, its really a shame that the company has turned into THIS! They dont care about anything but the numbers.

    Advice to Management

Fire everyone and start all over again. You owe it to Bob, the creator of the restaurant, to carry out his vision. Shame on you

    Pros

The only real pro of working at Bob Evans was the meal discount. The food there is pretty tasty if you know what you're ordering.

    Cons

There are way too many cons about this place to list. The management is clueless and the staff consists almost entirely of convicted felons.

    Advice to Management

Hire some decent workers, get out of the office, and make all your employees do their jobs, not just those who choose to.

    Pros

    50% off when working
20% off when not working and at mimi's cafe
hire young giving high school students employment
    promote within the company

    Cons

    No respect from general managers.
Managers DO NOT know how to manage..ANYTHING!!!
Corporate is only concerned with making more money.
No respect for employees from corporate .
Constantly running out of everything, from food to silver wear to take home supplies.
Almost constantly under staffed! making the job extremely stressful and it really is not worth it!
Young employees, since still in high school, are immature and do not care about the job.
Higher ups and corporate scold general and assistant managers when having to delete items off guests bills, making managers hesitant to do so, thus guests are wrongfully charged.

    Advice to Management

If you respect your employees, they will respect you. Hire managers who know how to actually manage!! Put more emphasis on employees and guests, NOT MONEY!!

    Pros

    Free food and good benefits.

    Cons

Long hours, low pay, and no room to move up. Managers have worked there their entire life and don't leave. Because of this, there are never any openings to move up to.
