    Pros

Good opportunity to develop leadership skills; good job for beginner managers learning to manage people. Obsessed with quality of food, cleanliness, and safety.

    Cons

Lots of hours, little flexibility with schedule, and pay is average for the hours worked. Also don't give many opportunities to move from stores to corporate positions.

I worked at Bob Evans full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

The team was great, and the food industry is fun.

    Cons

The now-departed CEO was overly involved in the day-to-day operations. Incentives were cut, and longer hours were unofficially demanded from workers.

    Advice to Management

Managing during change is always difficult. My biggest piece of advice is to support employees who are loyal and dedicated but who maybe don't want to work 50+ hours a week for a job with limited upward mobility.

I worked at Bob Evans full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

There is potential to gain a lot of work experience. For the most part, the staff is generally friendly to work with. Most managers will try to work with you to accommodate specific needs. If handled properly upon leaving, it is a company that can easily be returned to in the future, if the need arises.

    Cons

Unorganized management can ruin the experience. Non-team-building coworkers will discourage you. There are a lot of teens that enter this establishment as their first job and aren't trained properly in order to function as a contributing member. Greed does affect some employees and attitudes can get out of hand, especially if gone unchecked.

    Advice to Management

Focus on your employees. Don't make promises you don't intend to keep. If someone is worthy of promoting, don't make an offer and then take it back because you are afraid of them being transferred and losing them as an asset to your store. Also, don't take advantage of good employees and run them into the ground just because you know they will say "yes."
