    Pros

The core values of a company speak volumes about them. At Bob's ... Honesty, Integrity, Community and Fun are just a few... It feels great to work for a company that cares as much about it's employees as it's customers. I am honored to be part of this team!

    Cons

I wish there was a faster way tonlet more people know what a great organization this is!

I have been working at Bob's Discount Furniture full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

There are some great core values that Bob wants to teach every employee so that every customer experiences the bobs way . Higher management is perfect to those values. There are some amazing benefits and there is enough opportunity to sell. The protection plan is really good in my experience both personally and from customer reviews.

    Cons

Not everyone follows all the guidelines so meeting your monthly goal can be hard sometimes with the competition. Trying to keep a positive attitude while others micromanage can be difficult at times.

    Advice to Management

Remember all the core values, especially fun because customers don't want to walk in and see on a slow day a bunch of defeated salespeople. If the sales floor gets along, the store can do a lot better. Although it's a sales floor, the opportunities are there for a team to succeed.

I have been working at Bob's Discount Furniture full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Worked there since August 2015. Fast paced with rapid growth opportunities. High % are promoted from within. Benefits are excellent. Very diverse in people.
Love the culture and the professional environment. Executives are smart, positive and very supportive. I have grown a lot professionally and Bob's Discount Furniture is the company I would like to retire with.

    Cons

Can't really think of any. It's nice working for a company that has such a solid business model.

    Advice to Management

Keep that personal one on one feeling as we grow to over a 100 stores in the upcoming year. And definitely keep the fun!

    I worked at Bob's Discount Furniture part-time

    Pros

great guy to be around and always takes care of his workers. he gives long breaks and lunch is sometimes provided in the lounge.

    Cons

the work is hard. it pays off but it is still pretty hard. this is why he gives you long breaks so you can rest and recover from the hard work.

    Advice to Management

do not get caught up trying to make money but trying to make your employees and customers happy and satisfied. this will bring in the money quickly.

I have been working at Bob's Discount Furniture full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Because of the prices you can make some serious money, but they really only depends on the location you are in. If your in a high traffic area they'll have more customers.

    Cons

The delivery teams mess up a lot and that can lead to cancelled sells. Furniture arrives damaged about 50% of the time which can lead to cancelled sells. No room for advancement unless your kisses a lot of butt!

    Advice to Management

No advice really it's retail, they are only following orders from emails they receive from upper management.

I worked at Bob's Discount Furniture part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Learn a lot of improvising, learned to deal with data entry, learned phone etiquette

    Cons

No time for training and won't fire bad coworkers, same position different pay isn't fair

    Advice to Management

If someone is coming in drunk all the time just fire them. If you have to pay them bc they worked there for 20 years so be it. Its a hazard to customers and coworkers to keep them on the staff. Same with people coming in high off of heroin. Please hire POTHEADS, they don't drool. Also more sexual harassment psa/ have an HR person at the location. Some male workers and managers were VERY forward with their crushes on younger employees. This was such a gross place to work.

I worked at Bob's Discount Furniture full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Great commission structure for new sales associates. You get what you put in if you were card you can make a lot of money. You will meet great employees that you will keep in with touch forever.

    Cons

Majority of the stores are overstaffed. A lot of downtime in between customers. Micromanagement at its finest. Trickle down blame from the regional manager all the way down to a sales associate.
