I worked at Boehringer Ingelheim full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Great benefits. Family centric with unheard of paid time off for newly employed staff.

    Cons

Privately owned. Stock holders would greatly influence direction of company as would a robust board of directors.

    Advice to Management

Go public and stop being a privately held entity. Take advantage of an opportunity to learn from how publically traded companies become successful. Management needs to press for innovative systems and technology...we're in the 21st century so invest in technology that will advance productivity and improve metrics. Rethink how your company monitors clinical trials....you have way too much money vested in contract employees.

I have been working at Boehringer Ingelheim full-time

    Pros

As a technical specialist, there is a wonderful team to work with and great benefits. We have great opportunities to learn new and exciting things and are able to connect with the customer on a personal level.

    Cons

There are limited opportunities for development and the hours are very strict due to phone coverage. It can be difficult to take time off due to the need for phone coverage.

    Advice to Management

Allow your employees to develop themselves and always support them in that. It is important that they feel like you are behind them in everything they do.
