    Pros

Decent pay, great benefits. Continuous steady employment at the plywood mill.

    Cons

at times, production volume was more important than production quality. Because of the union contract, there was a parent/child atmosphere between management / workers. Very odd, not necessarily a team working environment.

    Advice to Management

    Spend some money on maintenance.

    Pros

I've been with the company for a short time now and I'm extremely pleased with the organization all together. Everyone has been extremely accommodating and eager to help whenever I need it. They mean it when they say they have an "Open Door Policy"! I feel very fortunate to have been selected for this position!

    Cons

I've yet to find any cons with the company.

    Advice to Management

    Keep Doing What Your Doing!

    Pros

The company team is pretty nice

    Cons

No running water, working bathrooms, air, or heat. OSHA needs to come in and write these people up. Substandard working conditions of a 3rd world country. It's an unsafe work environment that hires anybody. They need to upgrade their equipment and facility.

    Advice to Management

Properly train people and develop real leaders who know what they're doing.

I worked at Boise Cascade full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

It's a job with standard benefits. Most of the people are really good to work with.

    Cons

The Industrial Engineer position is an entry-level management position and has nothing to do with engineering. They just fluff the title to try and compensate for the low pay, I guess. If you have an engineering degree, I recommend you keep looking or prepare to give up any dreams of an engineering career. If you're an engineer with engineering experience, you will be disappointed with this position.

    Pros

Very information experience at Boise Cascade. They help you learn a lot by spending one on one time with you. They give you real work to do instead of copying papers ect.

    Cons

I really have nothing bad to say about my experience.

Former Employee - Anonymous Employee in Grand Junction, CO

    Pros

Always things to do to stay busy. Guaranteed 40+ hours per week. The pay is somewhat decent for Grand Junction.

    Cons

The favoritism towards certain employees. 2nd shift ends when job is done, could be there till late hours of night. Hard to make plans with family. Suppose to be wholesale, but mostly retail. A lot of truck loads are pieces (or one piece at a time), instead of bulk. Makes loading take hours then get questioned why it takes so long.
