I worked at Boise full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Great people that work safely and effectively to ensure our customers received a quality product. The pay and benefits are great and management continually looks for ways to improve efficiency and reduce waste. There is still much of a family atmosphere at a lot of it's locations and I hope that continues in the future.

    Cons

If your afraid to work hard and do odd shifts it may not be the right fit for you.

    Advice to Management

Help employees and supervisors continue to grow and learn new things. Focus on what an employee contributes and less on politics.

I worked at Boise full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

I am knowledgeable of the plant in All areas. I enjoyed the times I was there. I want to be apart of a successful team

    Cons

Getting upper management to communicate on issues and concerns that needed attention.

    Advice to Management

I have then depted information that improved the quality and production. Mechanical issues Safety Concerns also cut costs. Also help with better communications also training, in house and new hires. Providing positive atmosphere.

I have been working at Boise full-time

    Pros

Great company with outstanding emphasis on safety

    Cons

Corporate should be more thoughtful of the worker bee that is making them rich. They treat us well as employees but that doesn't pay the bills. Mill work should still be a job that supports families not just another poverty level job..

    Advice to Management

Wages should actually match cost of living when rent for a two bedroom apt is 1800 a month even $20 an hour is not a living wage

    Pros

Great place to work, wages met and exceeded in places like Idaho

    Cons

Purchased by PCA unfortunately, the CEO was sold out by the board playing monopoly.

I worked at Boise full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Good work environment with great people to work with. Supervisor of Stock Prep cared about his employees.

    Cons

Was laid off due to Foreign trade. Sometimes had long work hours but was only during the shutdowns usually.

    Advice to Management

Keep up the good work but maybe listen a little more to your workers. They know what they need to get the job done.

I worked at Boise full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

The compensation package and benefits were good, along with the overall philosophy of the company.

    Cons

At the level I was hired at there was not much training or direction even though I was new to the company. In my opinion there was not much work-life balance. The outside sales positions put in a lot more hours than the inside positions.

I worked at Boise full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Not much other than a paycheck.

    Cons

Everything! This company is a joke. Management is incompetent and has poor judgement. Be prepared to work a minimum of 60 hours per week, only to be laid off after acquisition with Packaging Corp. of America. The company only values young talent. Very few promotional opportunities. Take my advice, DO NOT WORK FOR THIS COMPANY!

    Advice to Management

Recognize and value mature employees. Offer mentoring and career paths. It would be helpful if you actually knew something about the area and people you are 'managing'.

I worked at Boise full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

The employees are wonderful and generate a real team of support and friendship. The training is pretty comprehensive.

    Cons

Management in the accounts payable department was terrible: petty, controlling, irrational and often unreasonable.

    Advice to Management

Change the management of the AP department
