I worked at Bolthouse Farms full-time

    Pros

Competitive pay and benefits, consistent work

    Cons

Very fast work pace and focus on performance metrics led to a somewhat reckless culture, resulting in a much higher workplace accident rate than industry standard.

    Pros

Lots of great people work here.

    Cons

    Absolutely ruined by Campbell’s Soup.

    Advice to Management

Upper management in corporate operations are so far out of touch and very distanced from the people their poor decisions affect most. The corporate culture of mid level management being afraid to be frank with top brass creates a toxic environment.

    Disapproves of CEO

I have been working at Bolthouse Farms full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

A terrific brand, 100 year old company which was growing and profitable until Campbell's Soup came to town.

    Cons

Zero focus. Zero management performance. CEO, CFO, COO have/had zero focus on plant assets, people, or customers. They think we'll just magically perform in the market while they talk to themselves about what's going on, rather than executing. They don't understand how to create an AOP. They don't understand how to forecast, or how to action against a forecast. They don't understand how to execute with discipline. Worst of all, they sit on their hands while the business is on fire. They don't show up to the main facility and roll up their sleeves with their teams. Finance / Accounting / Manufacturing / Engineering / Sales and HR exist in Bakersfield, but they would rather literally phone it in from Santa Monica.

They themselves create silos of inequality across the sites. They invest ZERO, or nearly ZERO dollars in their employees skills, training, or even quality of office environment.

They recently went through an exercise of mandating a quota of rating 45% of employees as "modest" performers which is the lowest possible rank. I received much higher, but in my view they are scapegoating employees for leadership lack of focus, lack of connection, and overall incompetence in terms of running this company.

This company could turn around, it shouldn't be in the condition that is in. It is self inflicted at a leadership level, but we'll be fortunate if we'll ever be able to hire or retain meaningful talent after the complete and total disaster of the executive leadership dating from 2013 - 2018. Yes YOU!

    Advice to Management

Grow up. Go to work. Stop robbing the company with exorbitant salaries and crazy coastal expenses while the business is on fire and you lay off talent. Somebody will write a book about this someday and it will be simply unbelievable that you let this happen to a 100 year old company.

I have been working at Bolthouse Farms full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Full time. Some overtime every week unless you ask for more, which may be given.

    Cons

Plenty of work and dedication for little pay. No incentive for advancement, or better way to put it no other advancement than supervisor and that’s it. Can’t jump to different field of QC unless you have a degree, which the company won’t help you in.

I have been working at Bolthouse Farms full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

you get enough hours to pay for bills. Medical, dental, and vision are very good benefits we receive.

    Cons

Hourly Pay rate is a joke for the responsibilties we take up and a mistake or two can cost the company thousands if not more in loss.
The rate you gain vacation and sick time is terrible. Other jobs have you make double in their respective tiers on how long you've been there.
The turnovers are neverending and since there isn't proper coverage, you end up working 12hrs multiple times over.
Working in Freezer temperature environment causes aches and pains through out your body.

    Advice to Management

    Employees need
    1. Higher pay rate per hour
    2. Better training
    3. More employees for coverage
    4. Respect for their employees
