I worked at Bombardier Aerospace full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Fellow employees were great to be around. Management was the opposite. And HR is the WORST! Traveled to work at other locations. Each is essentially their own "business" and run differently.

    Cons

Working Hours were horrible. Best working hours were determined by seniority. There seniority = 8+ years. Constant threat of layoffs

    Advice to Management

Care about your lower level employees and fight FOR them!

I worked at Bombardier Aerospace full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Flexible schedule, good people at the working level. RRSP match, used to have excellent benefits, but since Jan 2017 they changed the plan and it is not as good.

    Cons

No leadership, management has no accountability, too many meeting without results, just happy talk. No clear directions, just micromanagement. HR is a joke, they do not support the salaried people.

    Advice to Management

Alain Belmore need to apply more leadership to his troops and remove the dead weight in management.

    Pros

Iconic Canadian company with generous salary and benefit. International travel opportunities.

    Cons

Racialist company focused on French Canadian. Poor management from top to down, family business not like a public-listing company, conservative, complacent, conceit and arrogant company, severe internal company politics, famous for company-wide lay-off and crying for government bail-out at tax payer's expense, even some previous presidents hunted from outside companies were let go, diligent and smart talents are fired, lazy, stubborn and gossip buddies are kept, a paradise for their own buddies...

    Advice to Management

Company-wide overhaul from top down to earth, including vision, culture, business management, decision-making, HR policy, everything

    Pros

    * Industry Standard Salary and benefit

    Cons

    * Management lacks vision and team point of view
    * 50 Hours of work with no overtime pay, mostly because lack of ownership of data and no standardized process
    * Talents are not being used properly. Tasks are assigned based on personal relationship instead of technical experience
    * Culture is very outdated and lacks professionalism.
    * No focus on employee satisfaction and motivation
    * Not enough recognition

    Advice to Management

Management needs to come out of the outdated point of view. Management should learn how to set meaningful team goals. Projects are assigned based on personal relationship instead of experience.

I have been working at Bombardier Aerospace full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Working level colleagues are nice however at management level, it is only politics. Engineering is better than strategy functions

    Cons

Management and HR engage in gossip, favouritism when it comes to promotions, HRBPs are pathetic - worst I have ever seen. This company loves to go by "perception" instead of merit. Leadership is confused- it's just a battle of egos. Depending on which function you are in, you can be pushed really hard and work 12-14 hour days with zero overtime.

    Advice to Management

HR needs to be put in its place. The gossip mongering culture needs to change. Too much money is spent on consulting firms who just take the data and churn out presentations. Also, try to assess why people are leaving in hordes !
