I have been working at Bombardier Aerospace as a contractor (Less than a year)

    Pros

Good people and good environment at the service center. Really fun to work with the company and there is always plenty of overtime available if you wanna work it.

    Cons

Not the best at training new employees. Need more direction for training and a better system for employees coming into the company so that they know how to take care of things. Luckily i had a couple of people that took me under there wing to show me the things i needed to know.

I worked at Bombardier Aerospace (Less than a year)

    Pros

Friendly environment. The manager and supervisor are easy to approach to talk to. They care about employees concern.

    Cons

As with other aerospace companies, lay offs can happen very quick and unexpectedly.

    Advice to Management

With the management constantly changing it is hard to be sure about job security.

    Pros

Very Professional team, high energy, skilled teammates.

    Cons

When the 2.6 B failed program shut down, The production workers that are part of the good old boys club infiltrated the Flight test organization and brought their lackadaisical unprofessional attitude with them. I fully expect major delays in the Global 7&8 thousand flight test program.

    Advice to Management

    None

I worked at Bombardier Aerospace full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

It's the best/biggest aviation company in Tucson. The hangar is climate control and for the most part, you get your allotted hours every week

    Cons

The 12 hour shifts working on the commercial side. Quality control is lacking with actual experience on the aircraft and it really shows

    Advice to Management

Be more proactive and less reactive when it comes to employee safety and satisfaction. It could be a great place to work if the focus was actually its people

    Pros

The company is a good place to work with competative salaries for the local area and generous benefits. At the flight test center you get to work on the actual aircraft and not just a small part or a computer model, which is very exciting. We also work on numerous aircraft types throughout the year, so there is always something new to learn.

    Cons

Wichita is a small mid-west town, so while house prices are low the options for entertainment and eating out can be limited. Having said that, there is limited access to music and theater and the city is still expanding slowly.

I have been working at Bombardier Aerospace full-time

    Pros

Lots of opportunity to grow and advance. Variety of different aircraft to work on. I would recommend the commercial dept because of the opportunity for overtime

    Cons

There are lots of non-certified technicians on the floor that need someone to sign behind them. Even through they are the manufacturer of the aircraft, there is little expertise on the floor regarding the maintenance.
