I worked at Bombardier Aerospace full-time

    Pros

Good support from competent colleagues in my experience
    Safe environment
    Friendly atmosphere (in general)
The salary is fair (if you are in for the money, look elsewhere though)

    Cons

Career advancement is very slow. They have career paths that involve climbing corporate levels, and you have to spend a minimum number of years on each level, which is designed to stall you among other things. If you want to move up the ladder faster, guess what - you can't!
The work is too organized - sometimes it feels like you are a station on a production line.
No training (no real paid training anyway - if there's some lunch and learn or something that you can do for free, they'll usually agree)
There are a lot of people that can do the same work as you within the company (most of the engineers are easily replaceable)

    Advice to Management

    none

I have been working at Bombardier Aerospace full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Salary, benefits and EIP bonus. Can't think of much else at this time. More cons than pros these days. Sorry.

    Cons

Ageism, poor promotional choices, not flexible with work life balance in terms of being forced to work at the office every single day. Lack of trust.

    Advice to Management

Promote based on merit, not friendship or seniority. Promote work from home occasionally instead of refusing it. This is why the young people are leaving.

I worked at Bombardier Aerospace full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Most teams are great to work with. Friendly and helpful.

    Cons

Too much bureaucracy and high level management need to learn how to be "leaders" rather than "managers". Work efficiency is a problem too, yet it's expected from most large companies who are not in the tech industry.

    Advice to Management

Learn how to be "leaders" rather than "managers"

I worked at Bombardier Aerospace full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Good pay for the work you do.

    Cons

Terrible project managers and crew leads that will try to put your license at risk to save time by throwing out paperwork or asking to reuse packings or installing bad parts.
Not enough tooling and poor condition GSE.
Never have parts or consumables to finish a job.
Horrible paperwork and parts ordering system.
Too much emphasis on time and not quality.
If you are going to work here stand your ground when people ask you to do something you are not comfortable with, you only have one license.

    Advice to Management

Get a new paperwork system that protect the worker doing the task. Instead of buying unnecessary things, start buying more basic tooling and consumables. Start to weed out the old school workers and start getting talent. Start teaching new mechanics instead of throwing them into the fire.
