-Stable employment for an aviation company
    -Salary is competitive
    -Health benefits are excellent
-401K matching is better than average

    Advice to Management

-Solicit process improvement ideas from front-line employees.
-Be more transparent with employees regarding changes that have a direct impact on personnel.

    Pros

Very Professional team, high energy, skilled teammates.

    Cons

When the 2.6 B failed program shut down, The production workers that are part of the good old boys club infiltrated the Flight test organization and brought their lackadaisical unprofessional attitude with them. I fully expect major delays in the Global 7&8 thousand flight test program.

    Advice to Management

I worked at Bombardier Aerospace full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

It's the best/biggest aviation company in Tucson. The hangar is climate control and for the most part, you get your allotted hours every week

    Cons

The 12 hour shifts working on the commercial side. Quality control is lacking with actual experience on the aircraft and it really shows

    Advice to Management

Be more proactive and less reactive when it comes to employee safety and satisfaction. It could be a great place to work if the focus was actually its people

I have been working at Bombardier Aerospace full-time

    Pros

    Great people
    Competitive Salary
Great place to learn about aircraft.
Good stepping stone in a career path.

    Cons

    Old school mentality & pressure...
Threats of loosing job, if targets aren't met
Lack of backing from higher level management
The company always seems to be in a state of flux and layoffs are often.
Expectation to work weekends and holidays, including around Christmas on top of regular weekday shift.

    Advice to Management

Back line managers & unit managers, rather than move a manager for doing his job, because the union workers get upset. The inmates shouldn't be running the place!

I worked at Bombardier Aerospace full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

I loved working with the customers, they were the best part of my job. My immediate co-workers that were on my team were pretty awesome as well. We truly were like a big family, and even now, I miss them.

    Cons

Where do I start? I worked in the training center, and it was impossible to get anything done. The environment was worse than middle school. It was an us against them mentality with all of the departments, no one wanted to help each other, let alone work together. It created a very toxic work place. And my immediate supervisor, while on a personal level, they were a genuinely nice person, professionally, they could have done a lot more. And don't even get me started on the sales team.

The company went through major layoffs and restructuring while I was there, which resulted in the loss of 1000's of jobs for normal workers, and the creation of numerous mid-level management positions that were completely unnecessary.

In addition to all of that, I watched numerous co-workers get passed over for new positions due to the color of their skin or their gender, or because they weren't a favorite. This may only be applicable to this particular location.

There was a sister site in Canada. The sister site is not nearly at the level as the one in Dallas. This created issues to numerous to list here, but I will say this. When one site is carrying the load for both of them, it is never a good situation.

    Advice to Management

Do something about the middle school environment created at the training center. Stop arbitrarily creating animosity between the two sites. You are going to lose more people if things don't change.

    Pros

Great team atmosphere before things started going downhill. There used to be a lot of pride in our work and what we worked on.

    Cons

Around the time of the layoffs, management just completely disappeared. Then they hung the opportunity of coming back in front of us until the very end, even though they brought back 5% at the most. Hard to not feel that leadership made a lot of dumb decisions that affected thousands of employees.

I worked at Bombardier Aerospace full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Very good hours which are beneficial to employees' time off. Great profit sharing program, and HR is pleasant to work with on the daily basis.

    Cons

poor middle management leading to many employees' downfall. Lack of proper and thorough supervisors also. Will definitely avoid this company in the future.

    Advice to Management

Treat people with compassion. Even in the hardest moments, like letting someone go, treat all your employees with kindness and dignity. You have the power in this relationship, and that comes with the responsibility of exercising it with reason and decency.
