I worked at Bombardier (More than 8 years)

    Pros

They are a great place to work. Bombardier values their employees with good pay raises and great benefits. They also care about their communities with fund raisers for the poor.

    Cons

They are hurting financially and have had to lay off thousands of people. This will continue into 2017.

    Advice to Management

Try to keep up the morale at Bombardier in this season of lay offs.

I worked at Bombardier full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Is not a stressful job depending on the position you are in. You learn a lot with in the years. Most people are friendly. Well I am happy I was part of the Chicago team and works with so many wonderful people.

    Cons

Do not see the potential or the qualities the employees have, it base on who you know to move up and it hard to move around shifts and be flexible to you daily life.

I worked at Bombardier full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Great experience and intro to aviation maintenance.

    Cons

Did I mention lots of paperwork. Yes I understand accountability but wow. Hourly rate should be higher for an A&P aircraft mechanic.

    Advice to Management

Set more a realistic time table to get things accomplished. You can't get a +30 passenger jet fully airworthy under 21 days, especially with many discrepancies.

    Pros

Good place to start or end your career as a mechanic. Other than that, better places out there. Benefits are good especially 401k.

    Cons

Management is very poor. Company morale has gone down because of poor management. Work schedule is terrible. 12 hour shift is OK if you're working on days but nights is awful. Even with a 3-4 day work shift.
