    Pros

Good Work Environment, lots of available overtime, I enjoyed working on heavy equipment, good co-workers, fun job at times.

I have been working at Bombardier Transportation full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Been with BT for over 12 years. Have always treated their employees well. I work with many people who have been here for 20+ years, so it really does create a family-type environment.

    Cons

Pay could be be more competitive to increase retention. Internal promotions go very un-rewarded which can frustrate those looking to advance professionally.

    Advice to Management

Take care of the loyal employees - they become invaluable. Experience can hold as much value as a non-specific college degree.

I have been working at Bombardier Transportation full-time

    Pros

    Work on cool tech
    Do meaningful work
    Many good co-worker

    Cons

Biggest con is being on project side of the business. There is project/product. Project travels coach for 3-5 week at a time. Trips working nights.

Project career is doing the same work over and over.

Arrive home and company expect you to pay expense report with your money while expense report team reject your expenses. Taping receipts to printer paper for hours.....

There is huge number of people who justify their jobs by putting more work on engineering, Form after form that keeps changing.

Morale is low, after office move to no privacy no cube environment will get worse.

Senior management said to employees “Everyone is replaceable” at all hands meeting.

    Advice to Management

Treat employees like valuable people, not disposable ones

    Pros

    1. Ample free time to concentrate on self development
    2. Minimum to no work stress or pressure.
    3. Deadlines; what deadlines?

    Cons

    1. Pay is meager.
    2. Bonuses and raises are based on your years of service in the company and not your talent/performance (1% raise and 3% bonus is considered an award).

    Advice to Management

Invest in R&D and new talent.
Organisational structure should be modified to create more one-one interaction between management and the employee.
Stop wasting time and resources with the "random drug tests".
