I have been working at Bomgar full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

The people are bright and the atmosphere is uniquely fun. We have raving fans because the products work great and leadership demands a focus on customers.

    Cons

    No cons that aren't nit-picky

    Advice to Management

I worked at Bomgar full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Free snacks, casual attire, some good people still remain from the days before private equity ownership came into the picture.

    Cons

Some of the new leadership doesn't connect with their most important people - the employee. If your employees are not happy (which they are not), then do you expect the customer to be happy? Private equity ownership drives the decisions and company culture here.

    Advice to Management

Invest in your own people by listening and taking action. Saying you will run something up the chain to the CEO or the board does not fly when you are dealing with smart individuals that you hired.

Individual managers can have too much latitude, and can poison an otherwise great experience

I worked at Bomgar full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

    1. No Micromanaging
    2. Friendly atmosphere
    3. Fair Benefits.
    4. Good place to work when it is the only option.

    Cons

    1. Absolutely no growth. If you are a person who likes to grow then this isn't the right place for you.
    2. No appreciation whatsoever.
    3. Compensation is way below the national average. If you are sole breadwinner of your family then be prepared to starve.

    Advice to Management

Focus on people not just on release cycles.
Take career growth topics more seriously.
    Happier employees helps company grow.
Do a market survey for QA positions and implement.

    Pros

Awesome perks, free snacks, free coffee, game day

    Cons

Unable to promote or move up to other positions especially into other departments. They should promote from within and instead hire from the outside.

    Advice to Management

Value your long time employees, train your employees more on the product! Promote from within instead of hiring from the street.

    Pros

The benefit package is the best I've ever had. There is ample paid time off and free snacks/drinks. Catered lunch on Tuesdays.

    Cons

I find it hard to believe that the current version of Bomgar is what Joel Bomgar envisioned. I was drawn to work there because it was different than most corporations. There was a feeling of humbleness and family, but it seems all of the good is slowly being sucked out. Bomgar leans on core values, yet they are slowly taking away from the employees, and it's hard not to see that corporate greed is at fault.

    Advice to Management

Bomgar may be a lucrative corporation, but the reason it worked so well for Joel was because he walked and lived values. He cared for his employees. He gave, and his employees felt appreciated and valued, therefore they worked hard for him. There is a feeling of false giving and under appreciation. It feels almost fake. Don't let the money take you guys over before it's too late. If you completely lose sight of where Bomgar came from, you'll be just like every other corporation: Money hungry and careless about turnover.

    Pros

The majority of the employees are exceptional to work with, especially those from the days of Bomgar 1.0.

    Cons

With the departure of Joel Bomgar, it has become a very different company than it used to be. More focus on the bottom line will gradually show less and less consideration for the employees who make the company and products successful.
