I have been working at Bon Appétit Management full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Great Benifits as well as great perks. You get to utilize all perks that the contacting conpany gets. They are very supportive and room for growth.

    Cons

Have to do lot of intensive labor for a small paycheck. Also, the training is minimal and expectations are extremely high with all the chaos in management.

    Advice to Management

Get more organized and communicate better.

I have been working at Bon Appétit Management full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

    - free food
    - There are a few chefs who are good mentors. They seem to be the minority.

    Cons

    - the dishwasher with down syndrome hit on me
    - the health benefits that are promised by Bon Appetite and Google were impossible for me to sign up for.
    - the kitchen focuses on demerits before learning, goal setting, or thoughtful deliberation.
-there are chefs who are good mentors (I met one) but any support they offer is squanders by the other white coats who out number them.
    - I felt restricted by their rules to wear cut gloves and let leads or sous chefs scream "ma!" at me while I was trained-- all of which resulted in me being reprimanded.
-every question I had about demerits (that require signing a paper that goes on your work history) went in favor of someone who is Spanish speaking or latino and latina.

    Advice to Management

The cafes and kitchens felt more like a correctional facility than a place to learn. I thought the management was brainwashed the way they couldn't identify between someone who comes in the morning with a positive attitude and does a job and her trainer who blares rap music at 5:30 am from a parking lot before work, offloads tasks at every chance to do as little work as possible, and can't have a one-on-one conversation about splitting tasks without bringing in two other mediators (every day).

I worked at Bon Appétit Management as an intern (Less than a year)

    Pros

You get to work at/in Silicon Valley. I worked at Google so it was an amazing experience. You truly learn a lot since all of the chefs and cafe managers are top notch.

    Cons

Nothing I can think of, got treated well and have nothing to complain about. Was not offered anything post graduation of the internship.

    Pros

Learned a lot about Cafe operations. There are three stages and three different cafes you work at during your internship. The first stage is prep cooking and line cooking, to give you a feel of the work environment. The second stage is shadowing a Lead Cook; you will help them with their daily task as well as work in front of the house service and interface with employees. The third stage is working your own station; you learn how to work independently without as much supervision.

    Cons

There aren't that many cons to this internship. You really learn a lot, and by the time you are done completing your internship you have the opportunity to interview for an actual position for the company.

    Advice to Management

The program is a great way to gain more experience and learn more about corporate catering. Each week you gather with other interns for a friday workshop and learn more about other cafes and areas.

    Pros

Money and Insurance that's it. Maybe schedules will fit for college students. I don't have any pros to think of

    Cons

Company which doesn't even have any profit sharing, stock, and so on that based on stupid management.
Experienced one managers who doesn't know how to control himself towards every single girls like desperate animal. So many discriminations every where with running their mouth without filtering in their head. Maybe they don't have any brains to think of before they act.

    Advice to Management

What can I say? It's just messed up.
They don't even deserve one. I wish I could put 0 out of 5.

    Pros

Great benefits. Dedication to food and sustainability. Fair pay.

    Cons

Working as a vendor poses many challenges. You have a lot of top down direction, and a lot of times it seems like not everyone is on the same page.
