I worked at Bon Appétit Management full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Good scratch food, sustainability practices. They practice what they preach, for sure. Very passionate and dedicated chefs. Benefit packages are ample.

    Cons

Compass Group owns Bon Appetit, and slowly their policies take over and make your daily tasks more complicated. Seattle is a rapidly growing region. Very high expectations.

    Advice to Management

Offer advancement opportunities to hard working junior managers and coach them, don't make them fight each other for position. The bosses don't spend much time interacting with staff on the floor.

I have been working at Bon Appétit Management full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

The pro's at Bon Appetit is that they have a variety of locations retail, traditional food service so it easy to find your niche. A lot of older people so little drama.

    Cons

Seasonal! Also, they do a bad job at letting you know the dates of unemployment. Wages! Not much room for advancement. They don't let you know of any opportunities to move up so once you find out the position is filled.

    Advice to Management

Try and keep employees up to date on dates of unemployment and have more opportunities for non-seasonal work.

I worked at Bon Appétit Management part-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Supervisors were pleasant to work with. Getting food was a nice benefit. Supervisors were loyal to those working there for a while.

    Cons

Worked at a college as a student. Even with being there a few years and taking on more responsibility my pay wasn't upped from minimum wage. Management also changed a couple times.

    Advice to Management

Be more critical of who is hired so a few key people aren't stuck working all of the less than desirable shifts.
