    Pros

The only pros to working for them was Warwick NY is a nice area and close to home.

    Cons

They don't pay employee well and if you make a formal complaint you become a victim of workplace retaliation.

    Advice to Management

Get rid of old management and hire new managers to take over the CBO office in Warwick, NY, Departments can improve if you get rid of all the managers/supervisor working currently. They are no good for anyone.

I have been working at Bon Secours Charity Health System full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

The staff at St. Anthony's Community Hospital consist of many talented individuals. It's a small hospital in a rural setting. If you want to be part of a successful team and have co-workers that are your second family, this is the place to work.

    Cons

Non profit organization, non Union, lower wages then competitors.

    Pros

Camaraderie, seems everyone enjoyed their job.,happy atmosphere even when extremely busy.

    Cons

Being short handed when it is super busy can be very taxing. And missing breaks and meals can leave a person shaky.

    Advice to Management

    Hire more prn, per diem.

I have been working at Bon Secours Charity Health System part-time

    Pros

Love my fellow co-workers. Everyone knows everyone. A lot of people have been here for many years. Administration seems to care about worker input.

    Cons

Input not always acted upon. The food is a little overpriced, but you can always go out for lunch.

I worked at Bon Secours Charity Health System full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

    Vacation: 4 - 6 weeks

    Cons

Constant changes in senior executives that all fight with eachother and put the employees in the middle. Furthermore the treatment of staff borders on abuse; I'm surprised the organization hasn't gotten sued more. The company also doesn't give any bonuses or pay increases. Instead the executives take huge bonuses and tell employees the companies not making enough money for them to receive any. There are constant layoffs and the moral is beyond dismal. It's the worst place I've ever worked.

    Advice to Management

Start thinking about what's best for the organization and treat the employees with respect. Then maybe every employee wouldn't be quitting or looking for a job.

I worked at Bon Secours Charity Health System as a contractor (More than 3 years)

    Pros

The nurses and some of the doctors are great.
Fortunately there is a union (1199) in place to protect employee interests.

    Cons

There has been a revolving door for most of the administrative positions for many years and the few who have been there for awhile are either dishonest or disorganized or both.
Management is unwilling to listen to the opinions of all but a select few employees (mostly doctors).
The board is unresponsive to the overall mission of the corporation, putting revenue ahead of patient care.
Some of the senior doctors are given carte blanc to do pretty much anything they want to without repercussions.
Excessive layoffs have led to poor staffing conditions on some of the patient care units.

    Advice to Management

When you have employee "town meetings" try actually listening to what the employees have to say. They are as interested in making the hospital successful as you are.
Stop giving out false or misleading information. It's easy to determine when you are lying and makes it less likely that we will believe anything you say.
