      Transition in progress

Oct 3, 2021 - Supply Tech in Richmond, VA

      Pros

Good people looking out for each other. The business model is about to change in 2022. The ministry has created a subsidiary corporation that is a GPO and will take all the supply chain folks into it. so there are some unknowns about how that will work but there is a lot of excitement and anticipation that it will be a good thing.

      Cons

      Very Busy. Too much overtime.

      Toxic

      Sep 3, 2021 - Police Officer

      Business Outlook

      Pros

The department has a lot of potential and has a great group of guys at the bottom.

      Cons

Don’t expect to utilize officer discretion as well as any use of force even if warranted. You will be suspended and or terminated for doing your job per the job description of a police officer and are given a security guard field training with the expectation of being a police officer. You will also be terminated for making mistakes due to lack of experience and training. The officer oath says to uphold the laws of the State of Ohio but Mercy Health officers are advised to look the other way and not take action on many crimes that happen in their presence to include traffic and criminal offenses. Department leadership doesn’t exist and is run on the good ole boy system rather then having qualified people lead the department. Leadership doesn’t reprimand racist supervisors and fails to keep staffing at safe levels due to the toxicity of the work environment and the restrictions it places on its officers.

An all around above average employer

Jun 26, 2021 - Nursing Professional Development Coordinator in Columbus, OH
      Recommend
      CEO Approval
      Business Outlook

      Pros

-Strong network of nurse leaders and educators. -Organization leverages talent versus letting them go elsewhere. -leadership staff struggle with a disconnect between ministry objectives and the market level decision making. -A more progressive management approach than what you find in most hospitals. -innovation is well received -TONS of opportunity for vertical and lateral movement with an emphasis on best fit for the employer AND the employee.

      Cons

-leadership staff struggle with a disconnect between ministry objectives and the market level decision making. -Nursing shortages have made professional development and leadership empowerment at the market level a “back burner” issue. This lack of growth creates stagnation. This is improving. - Lack of diversity in leadership. -Bias is apparent and observable. -because they leadership doesn’t resemble the staff, they struggle to empathize with them.

Aug 30, 2021 - Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) in Virginia Beach, VA

      Pros

Teamwork makes the dream work. Great office staff. Our local manager is top notch. I like the mission statement.

      Cons

Closing of offices that came with the merger were disheartening. A local hospital closed as well. They seem more concerned with the bottom line. Insurance offering could be a lot better.
