I worked at Bonefish Grill part-time for less than a year

    Pros

Great food and an attractive, modern atmosphere. I worked here during college and they were very flexible with my schedule. Very understanding of emergencies that may arise. Great employee discounts.

    Cons

Restaurant life is a challenge in itself. Management can seem like they are constantly requesting more and more improvement in the same area. No much room for growth.

    Advice to Management

More one on ones with management. Ask specifically how each employee believes the flow of the restaurant could be improved.

    No opinion of CEO

I have been working at Bonefish Grill full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

Great training and continuing education for hourly staff. Unique and ever changing menu items. Food and drinks are a good value which keeps the restaurant competitive and relatively busy.

    Cons

Over staffing, product quality continues to degrade. Company is too aggressive with growth vs. maintaining quality and availability of product particularly with fresh non-farm raised fish.

    Advice to Management

The cross training between FOH & BOH management is great however, it's appalling how many salaried managers have little to no people skills. People Skills really needs to be emphasized during the transition from hourly to salary positions.

    I worked at Bonefish Grill

    Pros

The menu prices are high which most attracts wealthier customers that usually leads to a better tip % throughout your shift

    Cons

Over time the company has gotten closer to a cheap chain restaurant like an applebee's or chili"s which is bringing down the overall quality

    Advice to Management

Get off the path of going cheaper to satisy shareholders keeping the restaurant unique and distinguished will pay off in the long run
