I have been working at Bonefish Grill full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

Reasonably good seafood restaurant. Functions like any corporate restaurant so any experience will benefit the future employee.

    Cons

Corporate so it adheres to the labor restrictions and tools. Trending towards the corporate model of streamlining work in way of prepared sauces and foods. Less discipline in the upper management so it shows in food quality.

    Advice to Management

Bonefish seems to still be promoting within its own company so very good.

I worked at Bonefish Grill full-time for less than a year

    Pros

There was plenty of training and cross training support for working in the back of the house. Everyone worked together really well to ensure that everything came out the way that it was supposed to in a timely fashion

    Cons

It's very fast paced. Sometimes the Kitchen Manager didn't really seem like he knew what he was doing.

    Advice to Management

Ensure that your staff is ready for promotions before they are given. Know when to step in and help when it's busy on the line.

I have been working at Bonefish Grill part-time for more than a year

    Pros

Free food. I work with a handful of hardworking, fun co-workers. Job security isn't an issue because management hesitates to fire even the worst workers.

    Cons

12+ hour shifts, no breaks, too much stress, management disagrees on absolutely everything, employee's opinions are meaningless, poorly run establishment, women are doubted and discriminated against, I was told that I could not do prep work or learn more about what we serve because the men do not want women to do it. Sexual harassment is excused. Neither management nor corporate enforces the rules, bonefish only cares...

    Advice to Management

You can not have a hardworking, loyal team who wants to work with you if all you focus on are the money and sales. Stop giving horrible workers 10 more chances instead of hiring good workers. This company is becoming just another selfish corporation with the way things are going.

I worked at Bonefish Grill for more than 3 years

    Pros

Great atmosphere, efficient and high-volume restaurant, new wireless devices for taking orders allows for more serving, faster. Perfect as a college job

    Cons

Becoming increasingly strangled by corporate. Long gone are the benefits that came with opening a restaurant and seeing individual rewards for contributing to the restaurant's success. High-volume means almost overly high-paced environment.

    Advice to Management

Reward people more directly for shining and contributing. The little things really do matter.

    I worked at Bonefish Grill

    Pros

Company values (promotes teamwork), Corporate involvement (promotes from within) and most of the co-workers are funny, pleasant, and hardworking who enjoy their jobs. Love having the regional manager pop in the restaurant and ask if the workers have any complaints, concerns or issues that he may be able to help resolve. MP is easy to talk with about any subject and cares about the business and his employees. The food...

    Cons

The location is new and has taken a very long time to settle in but still has not accomplished a plan for how things are done behind the scenes so that dinner service runs smoothly. Very unorganized, inexperienced and lazy managers. Any other business I have worked for the manager picks up the slack when they are understaffed but not here, they seem to have a do as little as possible attitude. Also, if there's misconduct...

    Advice to Management

Listen to what the working employees are telling you about what they see is wrong and work to correct such issues - don't take for granted that the managers or staff will comply - follow up, and pass out the written warnings. If corporate policy is NO cell phones, have them turned off, left in their cars or locked in the office (there's nothing worse than working your butt off while your manager is tapping on his cell,...
