    Pros

Customers were nice. Got paid on time. Wasn't physically abused.

    Cons

Egotistical trainers, who are more interested in going to hotels for meetings than actually training people.
Pressure to sell is impossible to correlate with integrity

    Advice to Management

Examine where your training budget is being spent.

I worked at Boots Opticians full-time

    Pros

    Professional development and employee discount

    Cons

Sometimes too busy for the number of staff available with senior staff not having enough time to develop junior staff

    Advice to Management

Treat optometrists better so that more will be attracted to residential positions, freeing up funds from expensive locum optoms that can be put into hiring more shop floor staff and paying them better.

    Pros

Colleagues are fantastic. Very supportive and friendly. Good job benefits. Decent discount.

    Cons

Management are completely oblivious to the human side of their employees. I also find managers attitude to selling products and services extremely distasteful. The job was advertised as a health care role with not much emphasis on selling. However, the manager told me to try to sell the most expensive product in an aggressive way even to people who didn't need nor could afford it.

    Advice to Management

Get a soul. You shouldn't be in health care if all you care about is money.

    Pros

If you want a career and not just another day time job I highly recommend getting a job with boots opticians. Not only do they have many paths you can take but they are serious in regards to their training. The benefits aren't bad either and you won't ever be bored!

    Cons

Sometimes the company is a tad bit unorganised but then no company is perfect.
