I worked at Boots full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

A Duane reade is conveniently inside the building. You get 20% off there as a Boots employee. You also sometimes get the cheap stuff we make for free. Sometimes.

    Cons

No organization. No training. No systems. Everyone has their own spreadsheet of history which is never accurate. If you like structure, or being set up for success, then do not waste your time here like I did.

    Advice to Management

Instead of throwing back to back meetings that go nowhere, Take time to develop your employees. And try to be nicer too.

I have been working at Boots full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Pay is decent and hours are fair for retail. Was once a great company. Excellent district manager

    Cons

Horrible since merger with Walgreens. They have taken away so many of our perks and niceties as if to punish us. Yet we are the ones fueling sales and making more $$ for WBA year over year. Work life balance does not exist. Pto is now a mere 5 days vacation and 3 sick days per year. Prior to merge w Walgreens it was 2 weeks per year. They have also eliminated our commission. Yet continue to assign us ridiculous sales goals. What’s our motivation to achieve these goals?? Gratis is few and far between. Even travel expense has taken a hit....the list goes on and on

    Advice to Management

At what point will Walgreens realize the Boots BA’s are the ones bringing brand awareness and fueling sales for the company? You treat your employees well and they will be the most loyal and eager to go that extra mile for you.
    Make Boots great again !!!!

I worked at Boots part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Great co workers, gratis, some of the trainings were great . Day hours , in the beginning the commission was attainable .

    Cons

Working in a target and they wouldn’t work with you no matter what you did . No health benefits , at the end sales goals were unattainable. Laid off instead of given a different option . I was very loyal and enjoyed my job but was let go after the Walgreens merger.

    Advice to Management

Stand up for your workers more, more support.

    Pros

I Have no pros! Just disfunction

    Cons

This company has no clue about Ulta business probably why they’re getting piled left and right. No one is in the same page. 3 bosses in less then a year and their upper management. This place is a joke wants you to drive over 4 hours a day for bath bombs since everything is struggling at Ulta! They have NO CLUE! Thanks for the PTO you can’t even take too!

    Advice to Management

If your trying to keep brands in Ulta try and actually know things ABOUT ULTA.

I worked at Boots full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Good work life balance, pay is okay (if negotiated).

    Cons

The list is too long. No structure, no training, poor communication, poor people management, no career growth, high turn over, no trust, priorities often change, no direction, low support does not demonstrate respect, not transparent, does not practice accountability within the management team - too many times mgmt makes mistakes and does not acknowledge it, however will blame and point out when others do.

    Advice to Management

Upper management often yells and curses during meetings and team members. Management displays poor leadership, bias, favoritism, zero professionalism. Members of this team does not have the skill set to improve or experience to lead a team into a positive working environment which promotes growth, self worth, integrity. Many activities/tasks add no value to the daily operations. Several suggests have been made to HR in order to improve the teams onsite however no progress have been made. The company needs an aggressive restructure of management which includes but not limited to termination and transferring to another department. Many team members(6) under the supervision of 1 senior manager have transitioned out of the company within 1 year - this alone displays the lack of competency required to train, encourage, build, and execute the necessary requirements to drive results, along with ensuring employees under this individual or given the required tools to be successful.
