    Healthcare Advisor - zero hours

    Pros

A zero hours contract allows me to work flexibly whilst I am at uni. There is a lot of training offered and my day varies greatly at boots with a lot of responsibility and trust given. I work with a great range of people and have been lucky to have a great manager. You also get a good discount including a double discount day. Some of the area managers are really nice and take the time to know even the temporary staff.

    Cons

Can be shift patterns meaning you have to do a time you would prefer not but these are not too late and obviously discussed before you take the job.

Really nice job and caring company

    Pros

Really good salary for a 16 year old, I get £7.99ph Busy environment especially during christmas time which I like as I always have something to do and time flies past quickly - not so busy that the job is stressful though Lovely fellow staff and managers Tasks are quite practical and varied which keeps the job interesting Everyone who works at Boots genuinely seems to enjoy what they do and honestly cares so much about quality customer service, which I think shows how well the company treat their employees Breaks aren't too bad

    Cons

My training wasn't quite up to scratch - obviously because I started at one of the busiest times of the year I can understand why, but my till training especially was very minimal and as a result I did make a few mistakes towards the beginning which was not only embarrassing but meant I had a few unhappy customers to apologise to. Management was also very vague about where I was supposed to go or what jobs I needed to complete at first - I'd literally walk into the store at the beginning of my shift and have no idea what to do or who to go to. Luckily I'm a bit more used to it now and have it all under hand!

    Pros

Such a bad working environment you build a great rapport with your collegues who are also having a hard time

    Cons

Terrible training, no support from senior management, bad pay, they steal hours from you daily, long days, weekends and bank holidays, the company do not care about their staff at all. There is no work/life balance, most of the time you are short staffed as people are off work with stress
