Pros

Very open and non heirachical culture. Smart folks, but not arrogant

Lots of fragmentation, no clear direction. Leadership did not have a good vision

Pros

Great place to build valuable skills and work alongside incredibly smart people. I left as a Principal and the amazing opportunities afforded to me given my experience and capabilities continue to surprise me. I can't imagine a better way to spend my time after b-school (except perhaps starting a company from scratch).

Cons

Long hours, complex work and very high expectations and demands. Little time for a personal life, yet I was able to string together a fun social life. Would be harder I think for having a family.

Pros

Great leadership.... Awesome work .... Intellectually stimulating I have worked at other consulting firms as well as held executive roles in industry. Booz has by far the brightest staff, most in-depth thought leadership, and interesting work opportunities of any firm that I know. I have worked at the Big 4 before they all spun off their MC businesses and I have purchased services from D&T, CGEY, BCG, IBM, and others. Booz beats them all.

Cons

The only real downside is the amount of travel. But if you want to be in MC, then you'll face that issue at any firm.

Excellent people, great mentoring, collaborative clients

Tough competition, insufficient training, lack of leadership focus (at times)

Friendly, down to earth colleagues. "Sleeves rolled up" and work collaboratively with clients

Pros

Challenging assignments, intellectually strong peers. Ideas are valued and promoted. Great learning environment, a good place to accelerate your career. Long hours, but reasonable compensation.

Too much focus on who we are not -- M/B/B. There's not enough pride in what we do, who we are. Culture could use some loosening up.

Overall good firm with new CEO trying to put Booz on right path. When business is good -- plenty of opportunity to go around.

Lack of scale creates knee jerk environment when utlization is low. Leadership manages business 8 -12 weeks out... several Partners on management team lack leadership / mgmt skills. Poor communication from top down. Firm is having a bit of an identity crisis.

Exceptionally bright colleagues. Real world problems with the ear of senior business people to fix them. Really bright, capable partners

Widely recognized for a horrible culture. Cut Throat environment. *very weak* leadership

Top-notch people, access to the best leaders in industry, ability to be very entrepreneurial, willingness to advance early on performance, deep functional expertise in addition to superstar MBAs

Cons

Very relationship-based, sometimes hard for people to fit into our culture easily

Pros

Good culture in key offices such as cleveland and chicago
