I have been working at Boral

    Pros

Easy commute Work doesn't feel like busy work

    Cons

Messy and uncoordinated Poor communication Awful benefits and PTO policy Management has issues controlling their temper and ego Dramatic and cliquey Lack of formal training for necessary equipment or programs Low salary and compensation Few people seem willing to help with issues Constant fear of losing your job

    Advice to Management

If you can't do your job without needing to throw temper tantrums at everything that goes wrong, you probably shouldn't be in management.

I worked at Boral full-time for more than 2 years

    Pros

Worked with excellent people until the layoffs

    Cons

Boral has so much red tape, simple things take forever to get done. Management doesn't listen! Horrible medical benefits. Expected to pay $250 for an emergency room visit like it said on my medical card. Ended up paying $3500. Very misleading. Benefits department didn't care/weren't helpful.

    Advice to Management

If most of your employees make such low wages, you need to provide better medical benefits. Listen to the grunt worker employees and learn from them.

I worked at Boral full-time for more than 2 years

    Pros

Company car, cell phone, expense account

    Cons

Management that dictates and doesn’t listen, very poor compensation compared to similar roles in industry, job threats for minor safety violations.

    Advice to Management

Listen and talk to your soldiers with respect, not in an arrogant I’m above you manner. As well as don’t drag your feet when it comes to promotional, be more clear, everyone I talk to within the company says they are underpaid.

    Disapproves of CEO

I have been working at Boral full-time for more than 9 years

    Pros

    1) $ backing from Australian company. 2) Australian Board of Directors rubber stamping US Executive Team “strategy”. 3) Middle management dedicated on building strong brands & creating authentic, memorable spaces. 4) Great place to work if you want to punch a time clock, always agree with the CEO’s plan & never challenge the status quo.

    Cons

    1) The CEO will cause the integration to fail. As a result of his enlarged ego & his desire to hide his flawed business plan he will also rob shareholders of their $ full potential. The report he provides Australia almost verges on “fake news”. No one speaks the truth. Leaders walk around with fake smiles & deliver fake goals so they can keep their jobs. Good people either are fired, self select & leave...

    Advice to Management

Engage a 3rd party to interview & survey both current & former employees. Share results directly with Australian Board. Why? CEO of Australia is no better.

I worked at Boral full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Easy schedule to work around. Decent pay coming in. Looks really good from afar. Good for younger worker starting out.

    Cons

No room for advancement. Management and higher up are reactive not proactive. Company quick to make quick/rash decisions. Operating procedures not enforced for salaried employees.

    Advice to Management

Provide more information, education, and advice to employees. Offer pay increases to match cost of living increases and individual worker output. Also communicate with all employees to expedite day to day work. Actually enforce quality control procedures to save business.
