I worked at Borderfree full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

The company was acquired by Pitney Bowes. I left before that takeover. So, I am only commenting on before the acquisition. It was a great place to work

    Cons

The building has a lot of construction. It is NY. So, what can you do. But, the construction bothered me.

    Advice to Management

I hope the new management cares about the employees like the old management did.

I have been working at Borderfree full-time for more than 10 years

      Pros

Lots of technology in use, Intelligent talented people, great team spirit, fun place to be.

      Cons

Hard work! Long hours, if u don't like working hard as a team toward a common goal then look elsewhere.

      Advice to Management

Keep it up. Things had got pretty bad before PB acquisition. One office barely spoke to the other, the two main sites were like different companies. Lots of uncooperative people and resistance to change. Things have improved dramatically over last 18 months and a lot of the old guard with the negative reviews on this site have left, people now talk to each other and the whole place seems more aligned with common...

I have been working at Borderfree full-time

        Pros

Borderfree in it's former glory days was a great company to work for under the leadership of the CEO at the time. Now it is a different story...

        Cons

Gone are the days that made Borderfree the place and enjoyable culture it once was. There used to be drinks and Karaoke nights after every town hall meeting, and monthly birthday treat of the month, and other small but fun events. These are all gone now under PB management. Even our christmas holiday party was pushed to the new year..it's like it was an after thought for the Borderfree side of the business. They don't...

        Advice to Management

PB management needs to take a hard look at what they've done to the business. if they really want the business to succeed, they need to harness the talent reward them and really build the morality back up.

        I worked at Borderfree

        Pros

There were so many pros during the Borderfree era but since PB has taken over they have all faded. There are really no pros to this company anymore than you collecting a paycheck and working short PB hours. No one is motivated to do much so kick the email chain around and everyone can clap once an announcement comes out.

        Cons

        - Attrition rate is over 50% and will continue to grow, PB has decided to destroy the Borderfree. culture that they paid a premium to buy - Best and brightest are leaving in waves leaving just the fat - Employee moral is at an all time low in the past 3 year - Merit increase are around 2 % for a above average performance review

        Advice to Management

Stop saying that you're a technology company you're not no matter how much money you put on NFL advertisements. Change comes from within invest in your employees, be honest goals and help align focus to rekindle the innovative force that was once Borderfree. Did you really pay 400M a rolodex of merchants or were you actually interested in the minds of Borderfree? Ask yourself this, while you do the talent pool going to...

I worked at Borderfree full-time for less than a year

        Pros

Office, snacks - though that might go away soon, PTO, knowledgeable people in some areas.

        Cons

No life/work balance. Some areas in the company are very badly organized - though situation is somewhat improving. After Pitney Bowes acquired Borderfree a lot of people are leaving. Pitney Bowes HR rep mislead me on my PTO pay during my exit interview and as result I lost significant amount of money - I wasn't allowed to take any time off before the exit.
