I worked at BorgWarner full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Great place to intern or co-op. Allowed me to work part time while in school and full time over the summers. I had the opportunity to travel and represent BorgWarner to some of our suppliers as an intern and give presentations along with being on other projects. Very rewarding as an intern.

    Cons

If you don't ask for things to do and put yourself out there, then you will find yourself not doing anything. So, do everyone a favor and yourself by asking people within your department if they need help. There is always something to do.

    Advice to Management

I never got to meet the plant manager and some of the other leadership in my time. My advice would be to be on the plant floor more.

I have been working at BorgWarner full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Great place to work, very flexible schedule (work from home, leave when necessary, etc. as long as your work is done), training is encouraged

    Cons

Process improvements sometimes are resisted due to entrenched "this is the way we've always done it" attitudes.

    Advice to Management

provide more support to process improvements and don't just let the worker bees force the change up from the bottom. You need to broadcast the changes from on high as well.

I worked at BorgWarner full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

The President of my division was the most amazing person I've ever worked for and will probably ever work for again. The team I supported was made up of some great men and I couldn't have asked for a better experience

    Cons

Nothing worth mentioning here - BorgWarner was a great company to work for

    Advice to Management

Remember it's the workers that keep things going - not just the people sitting behind a big desk in Detroit. The little man matters.
