I have been working at Borough of Manhattan Community College part-time for less than a year

    Pros

Everyone is very friendly and willing to help each other out. As you help out, you also attend events that will help you mentally - especially when you are a student and these events are targeting to students. You also get to learn software with help from counselors and colleagues. Also get tuition waiver.

    Cons

HR can be quite quiet, leaving you not sure what is going on sometimes. But when they respond, they are nice.

I have been working at Borough of Manhattan Community College full-time

    Pros

You're doing worthy work. Our students are among the most underserved and underprepared in the country.

    Cons

The environment is one that is divisive and very much old guard vs. new. The school is not welcoming to outsiders with fresh or different perspectives and I would venture to say there is a hazing period that lasts for years.
