I worked at Bose (Less than a year)

    Pros

Opportunity to take on new challenges. Previous CEO and director of Engineering were amazing leaders

    Cons

Caught in the hierarchy of women who don't want successors of the same gender - poor management, managers who are more concerned with their own growth and not their employees, empty promises after accomplishing goals

    Advice to Management

HR does nothing to support the employee, even when the manager is at fault and non-performing. Find out what's really happening from the people who actually do the work.

I have been working at Bose full-time

    Pros

Pension, good health insurance, work from home options.

    Cons

Bose used to be a great company to work for. Employees worked hard, and management appreciated it. After Dr. Bose passed away a few years ago, they began outsourcing every job they could overseas. This continues. No job is stable, and they still expect 100% loyalty from their employees. The workforce is very unhappy, and most are disengaged. It's very sad. They are ruining what was once a great company.

    Advice to Management

For Dr. Bose it was about quality first. Now it's about profit first--profit for upper management, not the employees. Questions should be welcome, not punished. Stop treating us like expendable slave labor, and we'll work harder for you.

I have been working at Bose part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Very well managed establishment, great role models leading you to constant growth. Pay is good compared to nearby companies. This job is perfect for those who seek professional sales experience.

    Cons

Just like any corporate run company there is a lack of communication among branches that usually leads to a confusing set goals by management.

    Advice to Management

You're doing great on your part. Keep the coaching the way it is and focus on team development.

I worked at Bose full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

The company is full of passionate and skilled people. They have a very diverse product portfolio and creativity was highly valued.

    Cons

The direction of the company during my last year seemed unfocused. Focus on customer satisfaction fell with the release of lower priced products.
