I worked at Boston Children's Hospital as an intern (Less than a year)

    Pros

very collaborative atmosphere, intelligent co-workers who are passionate about what they do and sharing knowledge, informative presentations that employees can attend

    Cons

Did not get a chance to work with more than the immediate lab, work hours can be very long but strong community and work environment makes up for it

    Advice to Management

As mentioned before, did not get a chance to work with upper level management as it was an entry level position, but no complaints as far as company structure or organization

I have been working at Boston Children's Hospital full-time

    Pros

Children's is a wonderful company to work for. There is a great focus on employee development and overall collegiate atmosphere. The health benefits offered to employees are reasonably priced and a wide variety of services are also electable.

    Cons

Annual reviews are frustrating because department heads have to end with a balanced team rating. The system is set up such that one cannot get an exceedingly excellent numerical review without another member of the team getting a bad review.

    Advice to Management

It would be excellent to have an annual review system that allows for ratings to reflect the overall performance of the individual without having to take away from the performance rating of the team as a whole.
