I have been working at Boston College full-time

    Pros

Boston College is full of wonderful people who are dedicated to helping the university better serve its students, alumni, and friends. Excellent benefits, including a competitive 401K match and tuition remission for coursework taken at BC. Many opportunities for professional development and continuing education. Outstanding work/life balance.

    Cons

Pay can be on the lower end, especially for early career professionals.

I have been working at Boston College part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Fantastic lab with a great atmosphere, the work is interesting but not too stressful. Learning a lot about the field which is good preparation for after graduation. Lots of autonomy...come and go on your own time, as long as you get your work done nobody will be breathing down your neck.

    Cons

A little disorganized at times, plus the university administration refuses to allow for graduate student unionization so they get screwed over sometimes with backpay among other things. This however is a university-wide thing and not specific to my lab. So the main issue is with the University administration, not with any faculty, graduate students, or PI's.

I worked at Boston College part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Very straight forward, got to complete and edit the surveys created by professors in order to help them edit, and then it wasn't difficult to administer the surveys

    Cons

Only every other week/every few weeks so it's not a consistently paid job
