I have been working at Boston Consulting Group full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

High-impact projects, endless learning opportunities, high-profile clients, good pay and amazing benefits. I found BCGers across the globe are universally kind people.

    Cons

It is hard to work on world-class projects for world-class clients without pressure. For many BCGers their coworkers and cases are the extent of their social circle and activities. Great for young singles, not so great for old families.

    Advice to Management

Flip the culture from "We'll let you honor all your other commitments" to "Your time that we haven't explicitly asked you for belongs to you".

I have been working at Boston Consulting Group full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Tremendous learning environment with unique exposure to high performers
    Great pay & benefits
Terrific focus on process, not just work
    Big impact on clients

I expect to quit the job after 1-2 years, but I still am 100% glad I took this job. It's a great learning experience if you have few friends and family to spend time with.

    Cons

    Long hours
Sometime feels too salesy (but other times we're adding huge value)
Dislike like the culture of expensing everything and gaming reward kickbacks

    Advice to Management

I don't interact with senior management enough to have much strong advice.

Keep up the focus on process, training, and open communication. Personal growth opportunities are what make this job uniquely worthwhile.

    No opinion of CEO

I worked at Boston Consulting Group (Less than a year)

    Pros

Smart and intellectual people, interesting projects if you enjoy learning about random industries etc.

    Cons

Very long hours if you are not interesting in consulting or switching industries every so often.

    Advice to Management

Needs to think deeply about how to develop employees and make sure they get timely feedback to work on areas for development.

I have been working at Boston Consulting Group full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    Fantastic culture
    Excellent pay & benefits

    Cons

Our team manager was a transplant from a foreign country and did not have much knowledge about business topics, modern computer tools as well as basic etiquette. May be that works fine in his/her home country but creates lot of impediments at work for many of us.
Again, this is just my team and may not be a company wide trend.

    Advice to Management

Revert back to traditional school of thought. Most of my colleagues from 2010 and before say the work culture was much better, and abrupt increase in organizational size has been posing a challenge.

I have been working at Boston Consulting Group full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Great learning at a young age
Exposure to many different industries and industry leaders
Real opportunity to make impact in large client organizations
Opportunity to shape strategic decisions for huge companies

    Cons

Many projects are badly sold with unclear objectives, understaffed, or crunched for time
Inability of leadership to say 'no' to scope creep/ unreasonable requests from clients even if it significantly impacts employee's work-life balance and satisfaction
A bit of masochism - a lot of deadlines are artificial and created internally, without any relation to client deadlines

    Advice to Management

Happy employees are key to a happy company
A lot of the good work we do would remain unchanged even if we change the fire drill culture
