    Pros

I'm a true believer that for many, BCG is the best consulting firm out there. Opens unbelievable opportunities and fosters incredible professional growth while still remaining personal.
Believe the professional development opportunities are greater here than any other top consulting firm.

    Cons

All the normal ones for a consulting firm, but great culture and improvements to work/life balance are generally beyond where the competitors are.
Unfortunately, a lot depends on your staffing situations, but the median and mean experience are pretty good.

    Advice to Management

Continue the upward trend, but bring along the reticent partners with you. Experience still varies greatly project-to-project in ways that don't need to be the case.

    Pros

The people are the best you will work with - smart, committed, and nice. You can be yourself - there isn't a whole lot of pressure to act a certain way to fit in. The job is interesting - you're not taking a cookie cutter approach. You are constantly given opportunities to develop new skills so life never gets boring. There is a strong culture of apprenticeship and everyone has access to the partners.

    Cons

The hours can be long or unpredictable on some projects. There is no doubt it is demanding - the hours, the travel. You'll need to make choices and tradeoffs.

    Advice to Management

Continue doing what you are doing.

    Pros

BCG gives you the opportunity to have a great deal of responsibility at a very early early stage in your career. As an entry-level employee (Associate or Consultant depending on previous experience), you are critical to the success of or projects that have very high visibility with senior executives at major corporations. While you might not interface with senior clients as often as the partners with whom you work, you develop deep contacts within organizations as you formulate and implement recommendations.

Furthermore, the culture at BCG is very non-hierarchical. Debate with more senior members of your case teams (including partners) is encouraged, and the hypothesis method discourages blindly applying existing frameworks to new problems.

    Cons

In my experience, the most negatives aspects of working at BCG are related to lifestyle. While the firm's leadership has admirably tried to instill a culture that encourages time away from work, in practice the lifestyle can be very difficult. Team members typically work into the night during weekdays and often can have a significant amount of work pushed to weekends. Moreover, many consultants spend four days per week on the road, often traveling significant distances.

Unfortunately, the travel requirements typically do not diminish as you grow more senior, as partners often have clients in several different cities that they need to visit on a regular basis.

    Advice to Management

You have done a remarkable job in building a place where employees are truly happy to work. Continuing to search for ways to improve lifestyle has the chance to truly differentiate the firm from its competition.
