I worked at Boston Heart Diagnostics full-time

    Pros

I worked at Boston Heart Diagnostics full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Flexible schedules, ability to work from home, generous PTO

    Cons

Terrible, and I mean terrible managment. Annual employee surveys have notified executives of the awful middle managememt, but no actions we ever taken. Absolutely no advancement opportunities. Company has been under DOJ scrutiny which has created a very hush-hush culture.

    Advice to Management

Value your employees. Let them do the work and you manage them.

I worked at Boston Heart Diagnostics full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

There's a relaxed, casual, youthful environment that is ideal for getting trained in a clinical laboratory setting
    Not stressful workloads
Enough changes from month to month to keep things from becoming stagnant
    Good work-life balance
    Plenty of vacation time

    Cons

Some of the managers are very out of touch with the laboratory. They seem unfamiliar with the process as well as the employees.

Strong work ethic is rarely rewarded, weak work ethic is rarely punished.

Rewards and write ups seem to be random and based on whether or not the managers like you rather than based on ability.

    Advice to Management

Get a better understanding of which laboratory employees are being productive and which ones just look like they are being productive.

    Pros

Some of the people were ok to work with, the pay is good, breakroom was always stocked with snacks and sometimes had catered lunch which was nice. Benefits were good too.

    Cons

The Preanayltic department is like a little clique in high school. If you don't fit in, be prepared to be fired. They hire and fire people so fast it's ridiculous. They give you 6 months to decide if they want to keep you with the company or not. They have this stupid rule which you have to log in 30-40 specimens in a hour with zero mistakes and you have 6 months to get this right. If the lead and manager like you...they will help. But if they don't..they will do everything in their power to get you fired.

    Advice to Management

Stop the favoritism! Treat people equally and stop yelling at employees that you don't like.

Messy leadership situation. On the third CEO since July. Most VPs have left and not being replaced. Down sized staff. Most employees are unhappy right now.

    Pros

Company had great culture and was very transparent, the product is good and the company should be more successful

    Cons

Since they fired the CEO last July things have gone downhill fast, it is clear certain groups are no longer valued by the new executives.
