I have been working at Boston full-time

        Pros

Ability to see direct and immediate impact of your work in the community, passionate and hardworking colleagues, fast-paced environment that never gets boring, full of incredibly rewarding and once-in-a-lifetime experiences, no two days are the same

        Cons

Huge bureaucratic institution that can be difficult to navigate, high burn out factor, people are emotionally invested in their work AND in your work (which is also a pro, but can wear on you over time), lack of consistency between departments, H.R. is a complete joke

        Advice to Management

        Invest in employee development

I worked at Boston full-time for more than 2 years

        Pros

Left at 5pm without it being an issue at work. Easy commute to home. Got an office. Work independently on cases.

        Cons

Starting salary of ACC is $60,000. You do a ton of work and represent the City and make a third of what you should get paid as an attorney in private. Meanwhile, employees in other departments often make close to double then ACC. Mgmt knows the pay is very low but, doesn't care and we'll gladly tell you that you are free to elsewhere if you don't like the pay. Everyone is disgruntled and has a chip on their shoulder....

        Advice to Management

You have the power to pay attorneys more (and what they are truly worth)- just do it! It will reduce the high turnover rate and improve moral in the office. Work on the work toxicity. It is very noticeable, affects the entire office and units, sets a bad example and is another cause of the high turnover rate.
