Members of some faculties are very good researcher in their field so you can work in reputable labs. Average compensation but good health care package including vision and dental. You can use the facilities of Boston Medical Center. Tuition remission is available for yourself or the family of the employee If you are international, they can apply J1/H1 visa for oyu. Pretty effective International SCholar Office. Very good location.
Cons
Research Associates are supported by the grants so it's a contractual job. You have to write your own grants to work here continuously otherwise it's a short-term (1-3 years) position. Parking is very expensive, commuting on green line can be dreadful.

Good starting job, but no room for growth or commitment to retention.

Good benefits, strict 9-5 schedule, all of the worker perks of working at a large university. You also get tuition remission and many people will complete a degree while working here.
Cons
Diversity is purely for marketing. Discriminatory remarks, micro-aggressions, and lack of support even for white employees. Very homogenous environment and, even before covid, it was impossible to meet others in the law school, negotiate a raise, or find room for growth. Staff members are generally not treated as faculty are, and we constantly express feedback only to see absolute inertia from the administration. Also, there are so many blatantly racist incidents I've seen swept under the rug. I feel bad for students but don't know how to help without being seen as "crossing a line".
