I have been working at Boulder Community Health full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Flexible hours - good worklife balance, modern workspaces, high morale

    Cons

    Nothing glaring or significant issues

    Advice to Management

Continue to treat the employees as you have been doing. The morale is high and we have great talent and people who enjoy working here. After 1.5 years at BCH in IT, I've experienced exceptional personal growth, regular pay increases, caring management and forward thinking leadership. Opportunities have been presented to myself and to my peers.

BCH has truly invested in its employees with upgraded modern workspaces, ongoing education and the organization continues to allow for a flexible worklife balance. This has created high morale throughout the organization.

Employees are treated fairly and given opportunities to move within the organization and there is always an open door policy with upper management.

In my experience BCH also truly cares about the community and how to meet healthcare demands by using the latest technology and investing in employees who want to be a part of the culture.

I look forward to working at BCH for years to come.

I have been working at Boulder Community Health full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Treated like family and really will try to work with you to retain you as an employee. Ability to transfer within depts is a thing I liked. They have done market adjustments to keep salary fair within Denver/Metro area.

    Cons

Can't think of none. The only thing was pay was probably below market value but they've done market adjustments in the last year so that issues been fixed.

    Advice to Management

Keep doing what you do and continue to listen and value your hardworking employees.

I have been working at Boulder Community Health full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

    • Great experience for mental health, you will see a lot of different disorders
    • Great PTO plan
    • Affordable medical/dental/vision plans
    • IP Behavioral Health manager is open to new ideas, and willing to work with you
    • Shadow 10 shifts before starting

    Cons

    • If they are short staffed for the next shift, you have to stay and work a double
    • Multiple calls to come in and work on your days off --- 2/3 times per day
    • Low base pay
    • 8-hour shifts --- only unit in whole hospital
    • Miscommunication between staff --- this is mainly due to 8-hour shifts, since change of shift happens three times a day
    • Very high turn over rate
    • Offers very few sick days --- call in 6 times and your fired
    • Expected to run group therapy with very little training in this area
    • Patients get treated more like prisoners, rather than patients
    • Some nurses can be rude to staff and patients, and aren't willing to help when needed

    Advice to Management

    • Pay attention to the Behavioral Health Unit, a lot of staff feel like our unit gets left in the dust.

I worked at Boulder Community Health full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

My Coworkers were amazing! Hard working staff. Management does not listen to the staff needs and does not reward them when they go above and beyond their job.

    Cons

Low pay, making changes but are rewarding new nurses and completing shorting nurses with experience and longevity. The management is slow to make needed changes and are usually behind other hospitals in making changes needed for the community.

    Pros

Promote from within which is great, however, often those people become stagnant in the position.

    Cons

some of the positions they have promoted from within are not filled with employees who stay updated. Many of these employees / management are stuck in a rut.
