    Pros

Great team of people to work with, always fun and engaging and most truly love what they do.

    Cons

All decisions are wrapped up in red tape and must come down from the university heads before approval.

    Advice to Management

Allow sports department to be more independent and give more freedom in decision making.

I have been working at Bournemouth University part-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

    - cheap apartments nearby

Literally, can't think of anything else.

    Cons

    - administration changes expectations and pay at random
    - no work/life balance
    - takes advantage of student workers
    - experience and merit do not change pay (they raised the pay of incoming (i.e. less experienced) workers by 30% meaning experienced workers are making almost $4000 less than entry-level ones

    Advice to Management

    Treat your student workers fairly.

I worked at Bournemouth University full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Excellent academic support and cohort of fellow students. Good opportunities to progress. Excellent facilities, particularly for media and creative students

    Cons

Struggle to think of any cons. Campus feels a bit like a concrete jungle aesthetically but that's being picky in terms of cons

    Pros

I feel valued and looked after - both part of the team and valued for my individual contribution. I feel well supported both professionally and personally - I have previously completed a fully funded MA and now I am in the second year of a fully funded PhD. I have been supported with funding for professional development and have attended professional training courses both within the university and outside...

    Cons

Not many that I am aware of - there are some support departments that misuse H&S, legal, discrimination and environmental considerations to derail progress. I see these areas as important considerations around which risk to the organisation should be assessed - however, once appropriate discussion and suitable control measures are applied these considerations should not prevent progress.

    Advice to Management

Ensure support departments a have the right customer focus and are fully aware of the Universities core business. Put in place internal communications strategies to remind staff of the importance of saying yes - not saying no to everything... Watch out for huge wage increases for the few at the top without recognising the contribution of the many troops at the bottom...

    Cons

    Pros

    High Salary and High Flexibility

    Cons

It is only a zero-hour contract

    Advice to Management

Assign even work to students as some people are able to work more than others just because they are free to reply to any job offer from the system.
