I have been working at Bowdoin Group full-time

    Pros

    - Great company culture
    - Good/Fair compensation for Sales, Recruiting, and Operations functions
    - Unbelievably flexible work environment (days off, flexible commuting schedule, WFH, WeWork space)
    - Nice Office/Park (ping pong, cornhole, LeanBox, food trucks all summer)
    - Management cares about employees
    - Most importantly, rewarding and challenging work. Everyone's achievements and successes are genuinely recognized

    Cons

    - Hard seeing path to certain positions (no one leaving anytime soon)
    - Tough to unwind/detach from work at home or on vacation

    Advice to Management

Executive and Sr Level Management works 24x7, which leads to over working and setting a bad example. Understanding that businesses never sleep, but people can/will/have get burnt out because they feel like they need to be working 24x7 (home and on vacation) because their managers do.

Having said that, the business formula is working. The evolution of the company in recent years is remarkable. Bowdoin has the right blueprint with the right people. We now to just need to stay course and make sure you keep the great team you have.

At the end of the day, this is a great company to work for. I am lucky to work here.

I have been working at Bowdoin Group full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Great people- the people at TBG are great. It is a fast paced culture but not your typical cut-throat sales culture. People look out for each other and nearly always do the right thing.

Growth potential- If you are willing to put in the hard work and be proactive with management there is a lot of room to grow.

Unlimited income- This isn't unique to TBG but you are truly able to earn as much money as you want.

    Cons

Hiring- hiring for a company isn't easy (we should know, we're a recruiting firm). but often times people get stretched too thin because there aren't enough qualified recruiters or salespeople at the company. The hiring has gotten MUCH better over time but it's an area that can always improve.

    Advice to Management

Continue to hire smart, hard working people.

    Pros

Everybody is serious about their careers. People work hard but they everybody helps each other out, We all play hard and their are no clicks. Management is very open to input, even from the newer employees. You will learn how to do things the right way. People with bad attitudes do not last. There are no office politics just do your job.

    Cons

When you first join you will be surprised how direct people are with each other. There is no excuse making. If you don't like being introspective about your performance the meetings can be uncomfortable. Once you get used to the directness you will find it very helpful.

    Advice to Management

The focus on culture has been very helpful. Don't take you eye off the ball.

I worked at Bowdoin Group full-time

    Pros

This is a great environment for a driven, hungry sales personality. The leadership group, especially the owner, is terrific and they put a great deal of effort into making people successful. The business ethics here are second to none and that comes from the top. There are always incentives and rewards in the form of dinners and company trips that are rare for this industry.

    Cons

Recruiting is a tough business......this company does it's best to help people succeed, but ultimately there will be bumps in the road. If someone is not self-motivated and a hard worker, this will not be the right place for them.

I have been working at Bowdoin Group full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

You will be recognized and rewarded if you're motivated, driven, and work hard. The people are very friendly and helpful, good culture, lots of flexibility. They provide an environment where what you put in is what you get out so there's the freedom to move at your own pace. Good for those who want to succeed quickly but not for those who want to just coast. Management works with everyone daily, If you have an issue or new idea you can address them.

    Cons

People often have a lot of their plates. A lot is expected. This is good and bad, no shortage of work but sometimes spread thin.

    Advice to Management

Many types of people can succeed there, they could open up a little, take a chance on people versus erring on the side of caution.
