I worked at Boxer Property Management full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

A lot of responsibility with minimal supervision

    Cons

Entry level position, low pay, little to no bonus, only 10 days PTO (if sick you have to use a PTO day)

    Advice to Management

Management needs to appreciate their employees contributions and compensate them properly. They are too concerned with the future of the company and have very little concern for the happiness of the employees.

I worked at Boxer Property Management full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Company is innovative, ever evolving, tech and marketing savvy. Structured work environment. Opportunity to gain experience and build a strong resume. Created long-lasting relationships with tenants, other leasing reps, and employees from other departments.

    Cons

Negativity and low morale created by dysfunctional and apathetic management. Unrealistic expectations and workload result in forced overtime without compensation (beyond salary), recognition and appreciation. Employees are undervalued. Compensation and benefits are below industry norm. Annual increase are 1-3% if the leasing director "likes" you but 5% or more for those he shows favoritism.

    Advice to Management

Value and invest in your employees. Promote a positive working environment. Improve the level of professionalism among management.

I worked at Boxer Property Management (Less than a year)

    Pros

    - VERY structured in work processes and management hierarchy
    - The have an inventory with multiple classes of buildings and allows agent to lease to different types of clients
    - Training program for leasing agents was tailored and included a mentor type of liaison
    - Provided leasing agents with good template for preparing their leases, inventory, marketing materials
    - Competitive and Supportive sales team and management
    - Nice employee mixers
    - Decent benefits
    - Bonus structures
    - Opportunities to transfer to new assets/facilities

    Cons

    - VERY structured in work processes and management hierarchy; this helps keep a consistent business process with the high employee turnover
    - Difficult to close leases on higher class (A and B) buildings located in riskier parts of town
    - Lease negotiations could be tedious as it had to go through the hierarchy
    - Agents were CONSTANTLY being tracked (a bit of Big Brother scenario)
    - Asset Management (from the corporate level) was not consistent with keeping up with construction changes and suite numbers, this made leasing and marketing difficult depending on location
    - The greed from ownership is palpable through the lease terms and conditions
    - Difficult to move up

    Advice to Management

    - Develop a system within your process to better outline and number new suites in assets, this helps agents market better and allow tenants to obtain a CO easier

I have been working at Boxer Property Management full-time

    Pros

As a new employee, I have found the hiring process and work environment to be fun and exciting and if your up for a challenge that is truly satisfying...this is the place for you. Room for monthly growth with bonus structure alone...

    Cons

None so far. The hiring experience was efficient with a telephone and formal offer to follow. Training was extensive and found it to be very helpful and imperative for the position.

    Advice to Management

My direct managers have been professional, and I have nothing but good things to say about my team.

I have been working at Boxer Property Management (Less than a year)

    Pros

They give people with no commercial experience a shot.

    Cons

Due to that, they take unskilled people and ruin them for commercial real estate with their 3 page lease - that is not the way most of the world operates. They are overbearing and militant about the Boxer way of doing things, which allows you little freedom. High turnover due to the culture.

    Advice to Management

Everyone I worked with at Boxer is now somewhere else, that should tell you something! They have the opportunity to be great, but dont trust their people because they typically hire people with little to no experience.

    Advice to Management

I worked at Boxer Property Management full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

They will hire just about anybody... and you will receive an OK starting salary (just don't plan on you salary increasing while you are working here)

    Cons

They will hire just about anybody!!! When they bring a new person on board, they usually put them at their own property with little to no experience. This tirelessly wastes time for the person that has to "hold their hand" and guide them every step of the way until they finally grasp simple concepts a year later. BAD MANAGEMENT at it's core. HORRIBLE FUNDAMENTALS. Unwilling to correct any issues that may be hindering an employees desire to succeed.

    Advice to Management

Try and treat your employees with the respect and care they deserve, as well as your Tenants in general, and you will be amazed on how much this will change your company as a whole. Moral is in dire need of a boost.

I worked at Boxer Property Management full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Great opportunity to learn the commercial real estate business. The company is growing exponentially. If you can get your foot in the door, work hard, and get to know those at the corporate level there are a lot of opportunities to move up. I don't understand the negative reviews. They don't put up with BS, I can tell you that. The bad reviews are probably from those who don't want to work hard.

    Cons

So much growth means changing processes which can be confusing when it happens so often. The changes are good, but take time to get used to. Lots of data tracking and analysis. It can be overwhelming.

    Advice to Management

Hire more people to keep up with the growth,

    Pros

Excellent salary and benefits. Good work environment, enjoyed the training, meetings, interaction with the CEO and co-workers.

    Cons

Supervisor not part of the culture. Micro-managed, obsessive about reports vs, results. Expect successive list of "priorities" and projects which only contribute to more stress instead of productivity.

    Advice to Management

work with those who are showing RESULTS vs. micro-managing over reports and continually jumping through endless change
