I have been working at Boyd Bros. Transportation full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

No BS If You Are a Real Flatbed Trucker This is the Place You'll Finally be able to Call home If Your a Lazy And An Unsafe driver And You Want to work 1 day a week Go Somewhere else Boyd is Underated ive been Driving for About 8 Years I've been With Boyd For Going On 3 Months I wanted to wait to see if the other Shoe drops Before Reviewing But It's Been An Amazing experience So I Want Other Good Drivers to Know This is The Trucking Job You Want More Work than You Can Handle!! And You Will Get Home As Much as Your Contract Says When You Start My Position is Home Every weekend And They Have Gotten me Home Every Weekend and Even On A Week day For a Dr Apt. The most I've made Was $1,300.00 the least I made Was $1,088.00 So In 10 pay checks Its Been Very Stable I Run 4 Loads A Week Im home Every Weekend That May be Thursday Friday And Once On Saturday morning But Regardless they Have exceeded my expectations I have a Great Truck 2016 International Prostar With the ISX Cummings This is my first international And I've Always been A Pete and KW Guy But By Far I Love My Prostar More than My previous 06 KW W900 catC15 the Prostar isn't On the Same Level But With that Said It Is way more comfortable and convenient it makes my job and my week a lot better it is a mid Roof With The biggest sleeper Available void offers more things than any company I've worked for and I've worked at way too many companies in my eight years but a lot of drivers know finding the right job is very difficult Boyd is Worth The Chance They give a Big Sign on bonus for experienced Drivers And Any Truck That Says Boyd Is Driven By a Friend and I say that because Every Other Boyd Driver I've Met Has Been A Really Nice Guy

    Cons

The Orientation is The Worst Part But It's Short Lived Its 2 days On The 3rd Your Assigned a Truck with 3 months or more Flatbed Experience if Your 3 months Driving but Zero Experience You'll Do 3 days of Load securement after Orientation so 5 days and you Have Your Truck at a lot of companies your job going well or bad can be based on what driver manager your Given at Boyd I've Had A Great Driver Manager So I have been Lucky But I haven't met Any Drivers At Boyd Who Weren't happy With Boyd So i'd suggest talking with some boyd drivers if given the opportunity And make an educated guess for yourself

    Pros

Best company I had been at so far. They keep me running witch is good. Once you get past orientation and training if needed it great. I was told in orientation my home time be every 2 weeks but been home every weekend. I have an amazing dispatcher he help you out with any questions you have he very pro driver. With any flat bed company you have to tarp comes with the job if you don't like tarping don't do flat bed.

    Cons

    No cons at this time.

I worked at Boyd Bros. Transportation full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

I learned a lot from my driver trainer he was very informative.

    Cons

This company does not care about any of their new drivers. They will make you all these promises until they get you in a truck an then those promises become nothing but lies. An the truck I had also came with an infestation of bed bugs. They made me run all week with them in the truck an they would not put me in a hotel so I slept on the trailer. Very disgusting. An the dispatcher for all drivers new to trucking is a joke. He tries to be a dispatcher an tries to tell you how to drive your truck. It is not a family oriented company by any means.

    Advice to Management

If you tells drivers what your going to do then by gosh do it. An keep the new driver dispatcher in the office an retrain him on how to do his job an let him know he is not a truck driver an to leave the driving up to the guys you hire to drive.

    Pros

Good equipment, good insurance but expensive,

    Cons

Poor management, very poor load planning. Tarp pay is a joke, company might pay you for 1 hour detention even if you sit for 10 hours don't expect anything.

    Advice to Management

    Listen to the drivers

    Pros

Good benefits at a reasonable cost

    Cons

Trainers make the trainee stay up all day and when the trainer runs out of time then he puts the trainee behind the wheel. Trainers work the system to keep the trainees from getting home or they kick the trainee off the truck when it's the trainees turn at home. When they say they will pay you for a trip from home to the terminal don't count on it because it either doesn't show up or it doesn't match what your told. When your told you will be paid for a load of pipes from the co next door just know that you won't get the pay. Very very low miles. Boyd doesn't give you many miles but they are sure to take out all the expenses that they charge you for. Expenses such has chains, bar, twik card and anything else they feel the need to charge you for. The dispatchers leave you hang, hard to get a hold of, and when you call to change a fuel stop that is out of route they are not very helpful. Would not recommend this company at all

    Advice to Management

Listen to the drivers complaints and realize that the drivers are the heart of the company. Take this to heart if you take care of your employees they will take care of you
