I have been working at Boys Town full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Team effort, great communication within the department, amazing benefits, great salary, casual wear is appropriate, our safety is always the department’s top concern.

    Cons

There is never going to be a set schedule for when you are going to work. It’s based off the needs of your clients.

    Advice to Management

A bump in pay would be nice, although not necessary to keep your employees. But, a continued learning experience, maybe once a month, to keep all the skills necessary for the job fresh in our minds.

I have been working at Boys Town full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Great benefits, flexible job, mostly good people you will work with. Company has lasted over 100 years. You see positive change in kids and families. Very organized and support driven. Tones of development.

    Cons

Don't pay worth unless you stick around over 10 years. High stress, work home life is not good. On-call and off work every 14 days. Management is a bit clucky but mostly normal. Funding, funding, funding is getting low and government does not help with contracts for decent balance. You won't get rich.

    Advice to Management

Overall, pretty good except leading who paid their way to be in management. Everyone does their jobs well; however, Gossiping of firing or forced resignations.

I worked at Boys Town (Less than a year)

    Pros

The whole staff, along with the majority of the management was supportive and friendly.

    Cons

As you're working mostly with troubled teenagers set your expectations accordingly. You will have kids curse you out or get in your face occasionally but 99% of the time it won't escalate beyond that if you stay calm.

Not much in terms of advancement unless you're willing to relocate.

I have been working at Boys Town (More than a year)

    Pros

The overall work environment is face pace and energetic, which for me checks all my boxes. If that's not your strong suit, I'd suggest looking elsewhere. However, if it is, you've found your place!

    Cons

Heavy workload, not enough hours in the day.

    Advice to Management

    Keep up the good work.

I have been working at Boys Town full-time

    Pros

Upper management is super helpful and have your back. Co-workers are willing to help cover cases for vacation time. The pay is good for a recent graduate.

    Cons

Federal regulations has forced Boys Town to move their consultants from salary to hourly. They're cracking down on overtime which in this field of work you can expect to work a lot of overtime with client time, meetings, court, and paper work.

    Advice to Management

No advice. Every thing is good with management at BT Sioux City. Very good group of individuals and talent. Good work environment and nice office space.
