    Positive Outlook

I worked at Boys & Girls Clubs full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

The community is fantastic, as the organization truly cares for their employees and wants to see everyone succeed. The relationships between the families served and the employees is highly rewarding and people are often grateful for the services provided. People who genuinely care about what they do and who they work with and for. Great professional development. Matching 401-k program.

    Cons

The health insurance, while provided, was bare bones and employee retention wasn't always very high (possibly due to salary) so employees often had to pick up slack in other areas which could lead to struggle with work-life balance.

I worked at Boys & Girls Clubs full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Benefits are excellent - free healthcare, 401k match, short and long term disability, etc. Compensation based on performance is generous if you go the extra mile. People in general are very nice and focused on the mission. The loyalty to the organization and mission is amazing. You feel good about what we're all wanting to accomplish.

    Cons

Department restructuring is too often. Leadership tends to demand requests often very last minute leading to stress and chaos throughout the organization. There is a lag in terms of resources and technology considering there is money to fund big projects and make improvements. Disconnect between regional offices and headquarters can lead to friction.
