I worked at Boys & Girls Clubs full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Teaching children new skills, helping create inclusive programs for kids with special needs. The kids are for sure the best part.

    Cons

Very low compensation for the work and experience involved. Lack of overall communication, Horrible management from senior staff, no growth potential, lack of training and necessary resources, they also expect you to work overtime regularly with no overtime pay. Terrible organization culture and structure.

    Advice to Management

Your organization is top heavy. It's no secret. Pay your hard working staff better salaries fit for the cost of living in 2017. Your mission is to help people living in poverty so own up and pay your qualified staff better wages/salaries that are above poverty level.

I have been working at Boys & Girls Clubs full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Co workers in other departments are amazing! Benefits ok pay ok... the kids were the most important part.

    Cons

Upper management is terrible. Hard to believe both HR and senior management haven't caught on that they are losing a lot of new talent to keep higher level employees that are bad at thier job. Turn over happens for a reason! If a department or specific manager keeps losing people THERE IS A REASON! and it's not because all the people that left were bad at thier job... Foundation relations is terribly run and the manager of that team is hands down terrible. Hoping senior leadership will wake up and realize who the real problem is.

    Advice to Management

You don't listen to your lower level employees enough. You all meet for hours and hours amount one another while the lower level is baring all the weight of the work.
