I worked at Boys & Girls Clubs part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

If you love working with the youth. If you don't take your job too serious. This may be a second job. That way you won't be so stressed. You may get a long better with co-workers than administrative staff.

    Cons

No support from administration. Definitely doesn't look out for the best interest of children & staff.
Administration talks a good game, but does not truly appreciate great employees.

    Advice to Management

Learn to be a "leader" not just a manager. Learn what quality is from the employees.

I have been working at Boys & Girls Clubs full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

If you work at HQ in Atlanta, there is an opportunity to move around to other departments. The pay and benefits are good compared to other nonprofits.

    Cons

No opportunities of advancement at the other two regional offices (Chicago and Dallas). HQ always forgets about the regional offices and telecommuters not in Atlanta for everything! Poor senior management. Constant changes and staff turnover.
