I worked at Boys & Girls Clubs of America full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Great mission! If you find working with youth rewarding, working at BGCA or a local BGC is the job for you!

    Cons

Often local affiliates struggle with structure, fundraising, and staffing. Can be frustrating. Nationally, there is a bit of a good ol boy system that caters to long standing employees and not always in the name of bringing the best, most knowledgeable talent to the table.

    Pros

Great opportunities to learn more through the multiple trainings.

    Disapproves of CEO

I worked at Boys & Girls Clubs of America full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Flexibility, certain teams are good, excellent mission

    Cons

Too political, ego driven leadership. Constant change shows lack of true strategic plan. This is not a good time to join this organization. You do so at your own possible peril depending on the department you’re joining. If coming from corporate, don’t. They won’t respect your experience and may shut you down from enacting things that could truly improve processes, procedures and overall success.
