    Pros

great colleagues to work with. Bpost is a big company so it is not always evident to move forward smoothly, but ICT within bpost is working on a "private" manner. Cool.

    Cons

Bpost is a huge company in Belgium with a governmental history. Due to all ancient rules and "laws", procedures are most of the time too slow.

    Advice to Management

I think people management should be put more in place and political games should disappear. Transparency and communication is a very important topic that has to be kept in mind.

    Pros

The company has manu assets to count on and qualified people walk around the corridors. It offers good salary package.

    Cons

Profile of skilled people in the decision tower at la Monnaie is far from the field. The company'strategy is defined by operations, not by clients. It sit on a large amount of cash, despite allows little or does not encourrage new ideas. It follows the market instead of driving it. The price policicy is "me too" and is frustrating for sales.
At last its a top down hierarchy corporate, so much last century :-(

    I worked at Bpost full-time

    Pros

Relax atmosphere with large long-term challenging projects. Lot of young people, far away from the old image that you could have when thinking about the company. Programme for young graduates.

    Cons

Depending on the department you are in, you could end up in a hierarchical structure, with not enormous potential to grow.

    Advice to Management

Pay attention to the young starters, as they are the future of the company, by giving them more space to grow inside.

    Pros

The postal sector is facing a lot of challenges and a lot of innovation. It is a very excited sector to work in.

    Cons

High rate of turn-over at top level leads to not long term vision. Too many projects, no clear focus.

I have been working at Bpost full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

bpost is one of the rare big Belgian companies
It has its Headquarter in Belgium
The company offers a lot of job rotation possibilities - in theory -
It has nice training facilities - open for all employees
    Salary and advantages are ok.
Work life is for the overwhelming majority ok.

    Cons

Promotion is based upon ... Nobody knows. Some obtain other function, others do not.
There is no real debate culture.
    Hard working is not rewarded.

    Advice to Management

Wake up, the potential is there

    Negative Outlook

I worked at Bpost full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Better than average salary and company car, but merely to attract the level of people they would otherwise never be able to hire

    Cons

Bad atmosphere, very lazy colleagues with a fixed contract, no information sharing amongst colleagues, very administrative, very long working hours as staff to compensate for colleagues' lack of knowledge and effort, not even appreciated by director level. Existing state contract employees close the ranks and do not allow any newcomers, direction looks the other way. HR's advice was to go with the flow. Direction not supportive.

    Advice to Management

Be much more supportive to newcomers and to people that go the extra mile. Be much more strict for employees that don't respect working hours, coworkers and assigned tasks, and are on extended sick leave. Treat old school employees in the same way as newcomers, do an extra effort to change the state company culture.
