I worked at Bradshaw International full-time

    Pros

People are nice, try to do the right things

    Cons

Senior management has almost exclusively only worked there and the practices seem about 15 years out of date. Need to bring new thinking and ways of doing things

I worked at Bradshaw International full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

The company is the industry leader. It is growing rapidly through acquisitions which shows its financial strength.

    Cons

The company experiences growing pain in many levels. Not too many passionate people who are willing to grow.

    Advice to Management

Think long team. Don't be cheap when it comes to hiring top talents. Experienced employees are your most valuable capital. They can help you grow the business in the long run.

    Pros

Good work life balance. Management puts on fun events for holidays and usually lets people leave early

    Cons

The pay isn't the greatest. There isn't a ton of opportunity to move up

    Advice to Management

Keep doing what you are doing for the most part. Higher pay for the lower workers in the office would be nice.

I have been working at Bradshaw International full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

    Benefits
    Nice people working there
    Overtime season is ok

There are some perks to the company., such as paid holidays and extended lunches to celebrate the holidays. The place itself is a good place to work, people are nice.

    Cons

    Horrible Management
    Too much family in management
    Horrible Pay
    Too much favoritism

    Advice to Management

There are 5 members of one family as authoritative figures in one single department. Do something about it. Place is run horribly.

    Pros

Good, reasonably priced benefit package, 401k. All the standards available. Some really great people work here.

    Cons

It's not how hard you work, it's who you are related to. Company appears to be transitioning to requiring college degrees for promotion opportunity, regardless of how stellar your past work performance has been. There is a definite "Good Old Boys" network alive and well. The original culture of the company includes excessive micromanaging of employees. They need to learn that hasn't worked. Hire the right people, and the job will get done promptly and accurately. Once you are identified with a position, chances are you will never leave it. Cube Farm atmosphere.

    Advice to Management

Review your compensation program. Based on similar trends in the industry, the rank and file employees are getting the short end of the stick. It's hard to accept another year of "wage freeze" when the trend continues to hire more upper level employees (and they receive paid relocation) Management needs to stop trying to convince themselves that morning snacks, occasional luncheons and a nice Christmas party are what the employees really want. What they want are reasonable salary increases based on COLA, and Merit Increases.

I have been working at Bradshaw International full-time

    Pros

Office culture is relatively laid back
    Friendly family type of atmosphere
    Great benefits
Depending on your department, the compensation is very good. They are not afraid to spend money if you can show them you will truly add value
Great work-life balance (rarely work late, doors lock at 5:30 so not possible to stay later than that)
Very, very stable company. Backed by a big investment corp, never have to worry about lay offs.

    Cons

There are a few bad apples at this company, most of whom do not work in the corporate office (outside sales managers)
We have to share the break room with the warehouse staff, so there is no fridge where only office people can keep their things
Break room is clean but not at all "nice"

    Advice to Management

I would advise providing more at work benefits like a nicer break room, free snacks, etc.

  10. "It is a nice enough company to work for. Not as good as some, better than others, average I suppose."

    StarStarStarStarStar
    Current Employee - Anonymous Employee

    Pros

The company usually does special things for the holidays - long lunches with themes, Halloween, 4th of July, that type of thing. Have a Christmas party every year with gifts and drawings for vacations, etc.

    Cons

The company seems to be a little management heavy. There is definitely opportunity for promotion, though often seems to be who you know.

    Advice to Management

Now that the economy is picking up, it would be nice to re-evaluate compensation for those who have had wages frozen for the last few years.
