Pros
-work from home -choose your own schedule -flexible hours -it is rewarding when you get to truly help a student understand a concept -they have a writing lab (where you can accept papers and provide tutoring assistance on your own time/within 24 hours) and they have live tutoring (where you can live chat with students). The combination allows for flexibility -Overall, students are bright, eager to learn, and good to work with. You will occasionally get 'trolls,' but that will happen anywhere.
Cons
-They don't pay enough, nor do they allow enough time for tutors in the writing lab. Time expectations are not humanly possible. So you end up working for longer than you're paid for or you have to stop in the middle of what you're doing and fill out half of the form (which is not allowed). -After you work in the writing lab, you ALWAYS get a ton of "feedback" emails from auditors telling you a bunch of things you did "wrong." A lot of the feedback you receive is completely inaccurate/invalid. It makes you want to stay out of the writing lab. Then, when the writing lab gets behind, they wonder why no one wants to pick up the work. -When live tutoring, you OFTEN have to tutor 2, 3, or even 4 students at a time. You are NOT paid for tutoring more than one student at once. It's not fair to the tutor, nor to the student who ends up having to wait longer and get less attention. -Very poor communication systems. You have certain email addresses to contact for certain things (not specific people, but rather departments) some of the people who respond treat tutors very poorly and disrespectfully. -High stress environment -Overall low pay for the qualifications you need to have, and when you compare it to what you get paid at other companies (or tutoring face to face)

Pros
work on your own schedule work from home or anywhere great supplemental income, especially during these times for COVID-19 get paid every two weeks if you are on a set schedule, you get paid whether you have to wait on student or not
Cons
tutor more than one student at a time many students struggle with English students want you to do the work for them students will write a bad review although you do what they ask you never know how you are doing unless a student has written a bad review

Pros
Very flexible hours if you work Writing Lab You get paid for live tutoring if scheduled even if you don't have a student Ability to work from home (or anywhere with internet) is nice Some students are genuinely nice and eager to learn
Cons
Many students are lazy, rude, and/or unintelligent -- they expect you to do things for them and give them answers Pay is low , and you don't get paid extra when tutoring multiple students at once If you are lucky enough for Management to respond to one of your emails, it will take a week minimum for the response You get email complaints from "clients" for minor and trivial things Brainfuse policy and what students actually want directly contradict each other, so it is impossible to avoid complaints (either you do what the company wants and students get upset, or you do what the students want and the company gets upset) Tutors are expected to lie to students (not allowed to tell them you are tutoring multiple students at once) Many papers have so many errors that it would be faster to rewrite the entire thing than to go through and fix them As mentioned in the title, the company does not care about its tutors, they see tutors as expendable and only care about the morons who need help with their 7th grade English homework

Pros
* Work from home via your PC * Direct deposit * Don't have to interact with rude people in person * Some students are nice and grateful for the help (in fact, some are smart professionals who just want a little advice)
Cons
* Lack of help/communication from the head office is truly bewildering * Head office staff will cancel your scheduled tutoring shifts out of the blue with no explanation * Some students can be rude and super-lazy (and if they complain about you, you'll get a stern warning even if you did nothing wrong) * Some students are in ESL and need years of face-to-face teaching but will stubbornly insist on getting your advice via online chat, only to argue with you about every single point you make * Sometimes a tutor will be so frustrated with a student, he or she will suddenly log off, which means the student gets routed to the next available tutor who then gets to repeat the advice and receive delightful insults

Pros
You get to work from home and you get to choose what day(s)/hours you work.
Cons
Unfortunately, you are paid far too little for the amount of work you have to do. More often than not, you get stuck with two, three, or even four plus students at the same time and you have to work with each of them without delay (or you'll get negative feedback, which works against you). It doesn't matter if you are tutoring multiple subjects or just one subject. You'll have more than one student almost at all times. Did I mention you get paid poorly? There are also no opportunities for advancement. They claim that there are, but there really aren't, and as someone who has worked here for 3+ years, the outlook is awful. I wouldn't recommend it unless you were truly out of options. Despite being able to work from home, the work related stress is ridiculous.

Pros
Ability to work from home and flexible scheduling are a huge plus. Company actually seems to care about their employees.
Cons
Pay is low compared to tutoring in person, but is better than minimum wage.

Pros
It is nice to work from home and choose your hours.
Cons
You are hired and the extent of training is a few handouts to read. You pretty much have to figure it out on your own.

Pros
Woke from home and flexible work hours.
Cons
The administration is rude and unmotivating. They never use their names. The send canned messages. The students expect you to write their papers, and when you do not they complain. Low pay for detailed work.
