    Pros

Company culture has always been great.

    Cons

No cons in my experience, I've been very happy in my role, opportunities for growth, and have been pleased with compensation.

I have been working at Brainshark full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

Bsk used to be one of the best places to work to could ever ask for. You were valued. Your opinions mattered. Your work life and personal life were both valued. You knew the c suite had s vision and knew how to reach it. Today, that's all gone. Bsk is a sinking ship and it all started with it became a "sales readiness" platform.

    Cons

Horrible executive hiring decisions. A CSO with a vision that does not match brainshark as an organization. Sales reps who couldn't care less about selling well as long as they get their commission. A path that changes daily and a product that is so full of glitches and bugs it's become an embarrassing mine field.

    Advice to Management

Read the room. Morale is in the toilet and you're losing your best, brightest people in droves. Change now or bsk will fail. Don't let that happen. Start with finding a new CSO.

    I worked at Brainshark full-time

    Pros

Family-like, warm, embracing culture where each employee is valued.

    Cons

Company is having a hard time figuring out what to do next after a long and successful run in the online learning space.

I have been working at Brainshark full-time for more than a year

    Pros

The pro is that I decided to leave Brainshark!

    Cons

C level - lack vision, strategy, passion, or skills. They spend their time picking who is the next scapegoat for their bad choices. People - long timers act like spoiled children. They expect everything, are empowered to complain about any topic, and many spend their hours socializing vs. doing their job. Product - duct tape appears to be the ongoing strategy. New solutions don’t seem to be any better.

    Advice to Management

    None.

I worked at Brainshark full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Boston Office by South Station for Engineering

    Cons

Micromanagement (work here if you don't mind being a code monkey) Politics (nepotism galore, among other things) Bad work / life balance (unreasonable deadlines and badly estimated projects lead to management asking you to work your life away) A LOT of turnover, they somehow get people in the door who then realize 6 months later they made a big mistake.

    Advice to Management

Hire some people who actually know how to manage engineering, fire Chris if you want them to stay.

    I worked at Brainshark full-time

    Pros

Interesting space, great list of existing customers

    Cons

Senior leaders are ineffective. Layoffs are routine because the company is not growing in a rapidly expanding market. Direction changes with the wind. Entire teams are dismissed, their job functions are outsourced, then their jobs are reposted months later.

    Advice to Management

    Live your values.

    Cons

Competitive market, Waltham office. Office management (Reception, kitchen facilities, etc) is lackluster.

    Advice to Management

    I worked at Brainshark full-time

    Pros

Cool core product and some great people

    Cons

The pivot to Sales Enablement came too late for this old (but good) product to ever truly compete with other newer players. A management team lead by a CEO who is a CEO because of time there vs. skills means that hard decisions don't get made. And, the desperation is palpable with great execs leaving suddenly while other, mediocre and/or unnecessarily tough ones stay. Management team asks people to submit good...
